Honkai Star Rail Castorice: Kit, Materials, and Signature Light Cone Leaked

A major leak has revealed Honkai Star Rail Castorice’s complete kit, ascension materials, and Signature Light Cone. As a Quantum element character following the Path of Remembrance, Castorice brings a unique mechanic that involves HP manipulation and battlefield control. Here is all that we know about her abilities and the materials needed for her upgrades.

Honkai Star Rail Castorice’s Full Kit

According to leaks, Castorice's abilities revolve around sacrificing allies’ HP to enhance her attacks and summon a powerful entity called Deathwing. Here’s a breakdown of her leaked skills:

  • Basic Attack – Lament, Deadsea’s Ripple
  • Deals Quantum DMG to a single target based on Castorice’s Max HP.

  • Skill – Silence, Wraithfly’s Caress
  • Consumes 40% of all allies' HP to deal Quantum DMG to a primary target and lesser damage to adjacent enemies.
  • If allies don’t have enough HP, it reduces their HP to 1 HP instead.

  • Enhanced Skill – Boneclaw, Doomdrake’s Embrace
  • If Deathwing is active, Castorice and Deathwing perform a joint attack, consuming 50% of all allies’ HP except Deathwing’s.

  • Talent – Desolation Across Palms
  • Introduces a special Newbud mechanic, accumulating points as allies lose HP.
  • When the gauge is full, Castorice’s Ultimate becomes usable.
  • While Deathwing is active, allies’ HP loss heals Deathwing instead.

  • Ultimate – Doomshriek, Dawn’s Chime
  • Summons the memosprite Deathwing and advances its action by 100%. At the same time, creates the Territory “Lost Netherland,” which decreases all enemies’ All Type Resistance by 20%.
If the Damage boost from Castorice’s Talent is active, the effect is extended to Deathwing. Deathwing has 140 Speed and a set Max HP equal to 100% of max “Newbud”.
  • After Deathwing acts 3 times or when its HP is 0, it disappears and dispels the territory “Lost Netherland”.

  • Technique –Wail, Death’s Herald
  • Activates Netherveil state for 20 seconds, preventing enemies from approaching.
  • Attacking in this state starts combat with Deathwing at 50% HP.
  • After entering the battle, it consumes 40% of all allies’ current HP and advances Deathwing’s action by 100%. After entering battle and before summoning Deathwing, Castorice gains “Newbud” equal to 30% of the maximum “Newbud.”

  • Unique Support Skill - Sanctuary of Mooncocoon
  • After obtaining Castorice or when Castorice is in the current team, receive the following effect:
  • In battle, when an ally character receives a killing blow, all allies that received a killing blow in this action enter the Mooncocoon state. Characters in Mooncocoon temporarily delay becoming downed and can take one action normally. After the action, if they receive healing or have a Shield before their next turn, Mooncocoon is removed.
Otherwise, they will be downed immediately. This effect can be triggered one time per battle.

These abilities suggest Castorice will be a high-risk, high-reward character, requiring careful HP management.

HSR Castorice Memosprite Skills

  • Memosprite Skill 1 (Summon): Claw Splits the Veil - Deals Quantum Damage equal to 15% of Castorice's Max HP to all enemies.
  • Memosprite Skill 2 (Summon): Breath Scorches the Shadow - Consumes HP equal to 25% of Deathwing's max HP and deals Quantum Damage to all enemies equal to 15% / 17% / 19% of Castorice's Max HP. When HP is insufficient, it will drop to a limit of one and using this ability will not end the turn. Using this ability repeatedly will enhance it, lasting until the Deathwing disappears. When HP is less than or equal to 25%, using this ability will actively trigger the Talent ability effect of 'Wings Sweep the Ruins'.
  • Memosprite Talent 1 (Summon): Mooncocoon Shrouds the Form - When Deathwing is on the field, it acts as backup for allies. When allies take damage, their current HP can be reduced to a minimum of one, after which Deathwing will bear the damage received at 500% of the original damage until Deathwing disappears.
  • Memosprite Talent 2 (Summon): Roar Rumbles the Realm - When Deathwing is summoned, increases damage dealt by all allies by 10% for two turns.
  • Memosprite Talent 3 (Summon): Wings Sweep the Ruins - When Deathwing disappears, deals six instances of damage, with every instance dealing Quantum Damage equal to 25% of Castorice's Max HP to one random enemy unit.

Honkai Star Rail Castorice Traces and Eidolons

Here are all the leaked Castorice’s traces:

  • Trace 1 (Contained Dark Tide): While Castorice or Deathwing’s respective HP is at 50% or higher, increases their respective Speed by 40%.
  • Trace 2 (Inverted Torch): While Deathwing is not on the field, 100% of excess healing for each ally target will restore an equal amount of Newbud. While Deathwing is on the field, the excess healing will restore an equal amount of HP for Deathwing. Each restoration cannot exceed 15% of max “Newbud” / Deathwing’s Max HP.
  • Trace 3 (Where the West Wind Dwells): When Deathwing disappears, restores HP for all allies equal to 10% of Castorice’s Max HP plus 250.

Here are all the leaked Castorice’s eidolons:

  • E1 (Snowbound Maiden, Memory to Tomb): Each time the Deathwing uses ‘Breath Scorches the Shadow’, increases its Damage dealt by 30%. This effect stacks up to 6 and lasts until the end of this turn.
  • E2 (Crown on Wings of Bloom): After summoning Deathwing , Castorice gains 2 stacks of Ardent Will. A maximum of 2 stacks can be possessed at any given time and can be used to offset the Deathwing’s HP consumption when using the Memosprite Skill while advancing Castorice’s action by 100%. The next Enhanced Skill deals 100% more damage.
  • E3 (Pious Pilgrim, Dance in Doom): Ultimate Level + 2, Basic Attack Level + 1, and Memosprite Talent level + 1.
  • E4 (Rest in Songs of Gloom): While Castorice is on the battlefield, all allies’ Incoming Healing increases by 20% when having their HP restored.
  • E5 (Pristine Pages, Prophecy as Plume): Skill Level + 2, Talent Level + 2, and Memosprite Skill level + 1.
  • E6 (Await for Years to Loom): When Castorice and Deathwing deals damage, increases Quantum Resistance Penetration by 20%, and Deathwing will not disappear on its own after taking an action.

HSR Castorice’s Ascension and Trace Materials

To fully upgrade Honkai Star Rail Castorice, players will need the following materials:

Ascension Materials

  • Ethereal Omen (x15)
  • Echoing Wail (x15)
  • Darkveil Moonlight (x65)
  • Eternal Lament (x15)
  • Credits: 308,000

Trace Materials

  • Quantum Harmony pieces (x12)
  • Quantum Harmony fragments (x50)
  • Quantum Harmony crystals (x105)
  • Echo of War drops (x8)
  • Credits: 860,000

Farming these materials early will ensure a smooth leveling process when she officially releases.

Castorice Signature Light Cone – “Make Farewells More Beautiful”

Castorice’s Signature Light Cone is expected to complement her unique mechanics, boosting her survivability and effectiveness.

  • Stats at Max Level:
  • HP: 1,270
  • ATK: 529
  • DEF: 397

The Light Cone’s effect is still unknown, but it will likely enhance HP-based Quantum DMG scaling and improve her synergy with Deathwing.

All in all, the Honkai Star Rail Castorice leaks give a first look at her powerful but risky playstyle. With a Quantum-based HP sacrifice mechanic, she introduces a new level of strategy, requiring precise team composition and resource management. As HSR 3.2 updates approaches, players should start farming the necessary materials to fully unlock her potential.

Thank you for your feedback.
