The next big update in Genshin Impact, version 5.5, is just around the corner. Players are already hyped for the upcoming Genshin 5.5 banners, and thanks to official announcements, we now know which characters and weapons are coming in both phases of the update.
The new characters Varesa and Iansan will join the fight alongside returning favorites like Venti, Xianyun, and Xilonen. Here's everything you need to know.
When is Genshin 5.5 Banner Releasing?
Genshin Version 5.5 will go live on March 26, 2025, and will be split into two phases. Each phase will feature different banners with limited-time characters and weapons.
Genshin 5.5 Phase 1 Banners (March 26 to April 15)
The first phase of the Genshin 5.5 banners brings a mix of new and returning characters.
5-Star Characters:
- Varesa (Electro, Catalyst): She’s a brand-new 5-star character from the Natlan region. Her playstyle focuses on Plunging Attacks using a special Fiery Passion state. You can trigger it by combining her Elemental Skill with a normal attack combo. She deals high Electro damage and has a cool, energetic look.
- Xianyun (Anemo, Catalyst): She’s back! Xianyun boosts Plunging Attack damage for the whole party and provides healing—even when she’s not on the field. She’s perfect for players who like a mix of damage and support.
4-Star Characters:
- Iansan (Electro, Polearm): She’s Varesa’s coach and joins the banners as a 4-star character. Iansan can buff the team's attacks and heal them. Her buffs scale with how much your team moves around, which makes her fun and a bit different from other supports.
- Two other 4-star characters are expected but haven’t been revealed yet.
Genshin 5.5 Phase 2 Banners (April 15 to May 6)
The second phase continues the excitement with two more powerful 5-star characters.
5-Star Characters:
- Xilonen (Geo, Sword): She’s known for reducing enemy resistances based on your team’s elemental types. She’s great if you love building creative team combos and playing around elemental reactions.
- Venti (Anemo, Bow): The Anemo Archon returns! Venti is famous for pulling enemies together and lowering their resistances with his Swirl reactions. If you missed him before, this is a great chance.
4-Star Characters:
- Three 4-star characters will be featured but haven’t been named yet.
Genshin 5.5 Weapon Banner
- Vivid Notions (5-star Catalyst): This is Varesa’s signature weapon and works best when she’s in her Fiery Passion state.
- Crane's Echoing Call (5-star Catalyst): This one is Xianyun's signature weapon.
- Peak Patrol Song (5-star Sword): Xilonen’s sword boosts elemental damage and defense, making her even stronger.
- Elegy for the End (5-star Bow): This is Venti’s best weapon, giving him lots of Elemental Mastery and support power.
All in all, the Genshin 5.5 banners are some of the most exciting ones we’ve seen recently, packed with characters and weapons that cater to all kinds of players.
