Take-Two Has Plans To Support Nintendo Switch 2 |
Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick says they’ve got a great relationship with Nintendo and that the new console is built for a wide audience. Such statements hints that we’ll see some cool collaborations and games and here is all that we know.
Anticipated Support and Take-Two Games on Nintendo Switch 2
Take-Two Interactive’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, recently talked about the company’s strong relationship with Nintendo. He sounded excited about supporting the Nintendo Switch 2, saying it’s a system that can appeal to all kinds of players—not just kids.
Here is the statement he gave:
“We’ve had a longstanding relationship with Nintendo and we’ve supported the platform when it made sense for the individual release. There was a time when Nintendo platforms were really geared at younger audiences and that was reflected in our release schedule. Now with today Switch and potentially Switch 2, the Switch device can support any audience. As you may have noticed, Civilization 7 is now available on Switch. While we have nothing specific to report, we actually would fully expect to support Switch.”
This makes sense because Take-Two has a wide mix of games that could fit well on the new console.
With the Switch 2 expected to be more powerful, it wouldn’t be surprising to see big games like Grand Theft Auto VI make their way to it. Since the GTA series is a fan favorite and coming out in 2025, it could be a great match.
Other games like Borderlands, BioShock, and Civilization have already done well on the original Switch, so there’s a good chance they’ll show up on the new one too.
Take-Two CEO also refused to say the words "Switch 2" on the call. Asked about supporting the new Nintendo console he said "of course we will continue to support Switch." pic.twitter.com/caRuzSLyud

Take-Two's Historical Relationship with Nintendo
Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. started back in 1993 and has had an interesting relationship with Nintendo over the years. In the late ‘90s, they signed a three-year deal to make games for Nintendo’s systems, kicking off their partnership.
For a long time, Take-Two didn’t bring many of its games to Nintendo consoles. A big reason? Nintendo was seen as a family-friendly brand, and Take-Two’s games didn’t always fit that image. So, they were pretty picky about what they released.
Then came the Nintendo Switch in 2017, and things changed. The Switch wasn’t just for kids—it attracted all kinds of players, including older ones. Seeing this, Take-Two started bringing more of its popular games to the system, like:
- Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy
- L.A. Noire
- NBA 2K series
- Borderlands series
- BioShock series
By doing this, Take-Two showed that it understood Nintendo’s audience was changing, and the Switch had the power to handle more of its big-name games.
Besides Take-Two Interactive, EA is also excited about the new Nintendo Switch 2 console. EA’s boss, Andrew Wilson, thinks games like EA Sports FC and Madden NFL will be a great fit for Switch 2. He pointed out that EA games have always done well on Nintendo systems.
Well, with big companies eager to bring their games to the Switch 2, it looks like the new console will have a ton of fun options for gamers everywhere.
And while nothing is official yet, Take-Two seems ready to take advantage of the Switch 2’s upgraded hardware and bigger audience.
