Genshin Impact 5.5 update is bringing in a brand-new 5-star Electro Catalyst character, Varesa. Hailing from the Collective of the Plenty tribe, she’s got a fighting style inspired by lucha-libre wrestling.
If all goes as expected, she’ll release around March 26, 2025. Now, let’s check out the leaks on Genshin Impact Varesa abilities, materials, and signature weapon.
Genshin Impact Varesa's Drip Marketing
Varesa is part of the Collective of the Plenty tribe and a disciple of Iansan. She’s got a fun, carefree vibe—always exploring new places, tasting local food, and finding the perfect spot to kick back and relax. It’s like she’s on a never-ending field trip.
But don’t be fooled by her easygoing nature. When Abyssal monsters show up, she throws on her mask and charges in with fierce, unstoppable rush tactics.
She’s also an orchard owner, which ties her deeply to the tribe’s farming traditions. As the Abyss threatens the Collective of the Plenty, her story is just getting started.
Genshin Impact Release Date
Varesa is set to arrive in Genshin Impact 5.5 banner around March 26, 2025. She’ll make her debut alongside the Natlan region in version 5.5, likely appearing in the first half of the banner cycle, which usually lasts about 21 days.
Fans can expect her to share the spotlight with her mentor, Iansan, as well as some returning 5-star characters.
Genshin Impact Varesa Kit Leak
Varesa is a powerful 5-star Electro Catalyst character, known for her flashy, high-energy moves. She takes inspiration from lucha-libre wrestling, bringing fast-paced action and acrobatic attacks to the battlefield. With a focus on aerial combat and plunging strikes, she gives players an exciting and unique way to fight.
Base Stats:
Varesa's base stats at level 90 are as follows:
- Max HP: 12,699
- Max Attack: 339
- Max Defense: 807
- Base Crit Rate: 5%
- Base Crit Damage: 50%
- Bonus Crit Rate: 19.2%
Varesa hits hard and fast, making her a top-tier damage dealer. She’s all about landing big critical hits, which makes her a serious threat in battle.
Normal Attack — By the Horns
Varesa’s normal attack, By the Horns, is all about her lucha-libre roots. She’s got some electrifying moves:
- Basic Strikes: Varesa delivers up to three consecutive strikes, each dealing Electro damage.
- Charged Attack: She performs a headbutt that consumes stamina, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Electro damage and propelling her into the air.
- Plunging Attack: Upon landing, she deals AoE Electro damage along her descent path. If she is in a combat state upon landing or if the shockwave from her plunging attack hits an opponent, she gains 25 Nightsoul points.
Enhanced Normal Attack State – Fiery Passion
While in this state, Varesa's normal, charged, and plunging attacks gain significant enhancements:
- Fiery Passion Normal Attack: She swings up to three times, hitting harder and dealing extra Electro damage.
- Fiery Passion Charged Attack: She burns some stamina to ram enemies headfirst, dealing Nightsoul-infused Electro damage while launching herself into the air.
- Fiery Passion Plunging Attack: If she’s airborne, she slams down with everything she’s got, using all her Nightsoul points to hit enemies on the way and create a big Electro explosion on impact.
Elemental Skill – Riding the Night-Rainbow
Varesa dashes forward, zapping enemies in her way with Nightsoul-powered Electro Damage. After using her skill, she gets 20 Nightsoul points and unlocks Follow-Up Strike mode.
With Follow-Up Strike, she won’t get knocked back as easily. If you press Normal Attack, she’ll unleash a quick Charged Attack that doesn’t use Stamina. This effect disappears once she does a Charged Attack. She’s got two ways to use her skill:
- Tap the Skill Button: She rushes forward fast.
- Hold the Skill Button: She enters Nightsoul’s Blessing and switches to Sudden Onrush mode.
In Sudden Onrush, Varesa moves faster, resists interruption, and can leap off terrain. She can even run on water or liquid Phlogiston without taking damage, but this drains Nightsoul points. Once her Nightsoul points hit zero, the effect ends.
When Varesa enters Fiery Passion, her Elemental Skill resets and deals extra damage. She has two charges for this. She can also gain Nightsoul points by landing Plunging Attacks while outside Fiery Passion. If she fills up her Nightsoul points this way or uses her Burst, she instantly enters Fiery Passion mode.
Elemental Burst – A Dazzling Descent
Varesa jumps into the air and performs a powerful flying kick, dealing AoE Electro damage aligned with her Nightsoul element to enemies.
After using her Elemental Burst, she restores all her Nightsoul points and enters the Fiery Passion state. While in this state, her Elemental Burst becomes stronger, dealing more AoE Electro damage.
On top of that, she activates Apex Drive after a Plunging Attack in Fiery Passion state.
- Apex Drive: This increases Varesa’s resistance to interruption. While Apex Drive is active, she can ignore the cooldown for her Elemental Burst and use it with less Energy.
- Dazzling Descent: Volcanic Collapse: This allows her to perform an especially powerful Plunging Attack, the "Thunderous Tornado Eruption," hitting enemies in its path and dealing AoE Electro damage when she lands. This damage counts as Plunging Attack damage.
Genshin Varesa Passives
- Passive 1 (Night Realm’s Gift: A Torch That Incinerates Evil): When Varesa’s Nightsoul points run out, she switches to Phlogiston to keep her Sudden Onrush mode going. If she’s in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics in Natlan, you can activate Nightsoul Transmission. When you swap to Varesa while sprinting, moving in special ways from certain Talents, or at a certain height in the air, she jumps right into Nightsoul’s Blessing and Sudden Onrush mode. She also gets 20 Nightsoul points. This effect can happen once every 10 seconds.
- Passive 2 (Tag-Team Triple Jump!): Using her Elemental Skill gives Varesa a special boost called “Rainbow Crash” for 5 seconds. If she does a Plunging Attack during this time, the shockwave damage when she lands is 25% stronger. If she’s in her Fiery Passion state, the bonus jumps to 50%. Rainbow Crash disappears once she lands a hit or when the time runs out.
- Passive 3 (The Hero Twice-Returned): When a teammate triggers a Nightsoul Burst nearby, Varesa’s Attack increases by 30% for 12 seconds. This can stack up to 2 times, with each stack having its own countdown.
- Passive 4 (Blazing Heart, Singular Advance): Varesa moves faster when sprinting. Outside of battle, she burns through Stamina faster too. In areas with Phlogiston Mechanics in Natlan, party members recover 20 Phlogiston when they eat food. This happens once every 10 seconds, but not in Domains, Trounce Domains, or the Spiral Abyss.
Genshin Varesa's Constellations
Varesa’s constellations also leaked in Genshin Impact. Based on the latest beta info, here’s a look at all of them.
C1: Undying Passion
Her passive talent, "Tag-Team Triple Jump!," gets a nice upgrade. When "Rainbow Crash" is on, her Plunging Attack hits 50% harder when she lands, no matter what Fiery Passion state she's in.
She also gets a big Attack boost—35%—for 5 seconds whenever she enters or exits Fiery Passion. On top of that, she burns through 30% less Nightsoul points or Phlogiston while using Sudden Onrush.
C2: Beyond the Edge of Light
No matter if she has Fiery Passion active or not, every time she does a Plunging Attack, she instantly enters Apex Drive.
While in Apex Drive, she’s harder to knock down, and every time her Plunging Attack slams into an enemy, she gets back 11.5 Energy.
C3: Unbowed Resolve
C3 constellation enhances her Elemental Burst by increasing its level by 3.
C4: The Courage to Press On
Her C4 constellation makes her Elemental Burst, A Dazzling Descent!, even stronger. If she doesn’t have Fiery Passion or Apex Drive active, she gets Diligent Refinement for 15 seconds.
This boosts her Plunging Attack’s ground impact damage by 500% of her Attack, but it won’t go over 20,000 damage.
The effect stops once she hits an enemy or when time runs out. If Fiery Passion or Apex Drive is active, her Elemental Burst hits twice as hard instead.
C5: Thoughts Floating on the Warm Breeze
This constellation enhances her Normal Attack by increasing its level by 3.
C6: A Hero of Justice Triumph
When she activates Apex Drive, she instantly gets back 30 Energy, letting her use her Elemental Burst more often.
Her Plunging Attacks and Elemental Burst also hit harder, with a 10% boost to Crit Rate and a huge 100% jump in Crit Damage.

- Bonus Stat: 44.1% Crit Damage
Weapon Effect:
- Dawn’s First Hue: When she lands a Plunging Attack, her Crit Damage for it goes up by 28%.
