A guide on the best CS2 Train lineups is important as Valve has added the Train map back in the game.
Best CS2 Train lineups with Molotovs, Smoke, and Flash |
CS2 Train lineups are not the simplest to figure out, especially for beginners. The recent major patch was added a few days back on November 14 and included the iconic map. Train was removed from the active map poll of CS:GO in May 2021 and Ancient took its place. However, it is back in action in CS2, but only in Deathmatch, Casual, and Competitive mode, not in Premier mode. And lineups have become even more confusing now.
This new CS2 Train addition brings with it an overhauled version of the original map with lots of great visuals, adjustments and even easter eggs that hark back to the CS:GO Train days. But keeping in mind the change in movement and mechanics from CS:GO to CS2, most of the old lineups would not work. To counter this, Valve added a map guide feature to help newbies learn the new lineups.
We don't think the importance of a guide on CS2 Train lineups needs to be emphasized again. Let's dive into it.
Top CS2 Train lineups
CS2 Train smoke "Ivy" lineup
One of the most popular A site entry smokes is called the Ivy smoke. The map guide feature talks about these lineups, which can be used for a full-stack push from outside A. The first smoke can be thrown by going near the train from the T-spawn and standing near the second last iron pole. Then, looking at the edge of the closed wooden window of the white building and moving the crosshairs up till the edge of the roof comes up and then doing a jump throw.
To throw the second smoke, stay in the same position while moving the mouse slightly to the left. Then, move the crosshair until it sits exactly between the roof of the white building and the pipeline of the blue building. In this position, do a jump throw again.
CS2 Train smoke "Z" lineup
This lineup can be used to block the second entrance for CT at the A-side. It has the perk of being able to be thrown from the T-spawn. Throw this is easy. Stand in front of the green engine and align the -2x mark with the grenade lineup helper at the pipeline of the white building situated to the left. Then, move the crosshair up until it reaches the edge and jump throw.
CS2 Train default flash for CT
You can easily do a flash to T-side from B if you follow these steps. Climb the left-side stairs to the door that cannot be accessed and look in the direction from where the terrorists will be entering. Then, aim the crosshairs at the top right edge of the blue train compartment. Finally, do a normal throw, not a jump throw, because that could blind the allies too.
This is a basic lineup that will serve to hold off aggressive enemies. Once this step is complete, other players can step in with Molotovs and smoke grenades for support.
A-site entrance lineup for terrorists
The CT backup to enter can be easily blocked while entering the A-site if this Molotov lineup is used. Stand to the left side of the entrance from the A main. Move the crosshairs until they come to rest upon the light above the red train compartment. Make a normal throw and quickly move to acquire another molly from a teammate. Now, keep moving left till you hit the middle point of the large window just above the CCTV cameras and make another normal throw.
The Z-connector and Old Bomb locations will both be blocked by these Molotovs. But left an eye out for the leftmost opening called Hell because you won't be covered for this.
These are the best CS2 Train lineups that are currently available. Bear in mind, the CS2 Train was launched only a few days ago, so many more interesting lineups involving all sorts of throwables are yet to be discovered. So keep exploring.
