Want to which ones are the most expensive skins in Counter-Strike 2 in 2024? Then you have come to the right place.
Most Expensive Counter-Strike 2 Skins in 2024 |
Given that Counter-Strike 2 is a tactical first-person shooter, it is somewhat surprising that skins are among the most expensive items. Perhaps that is part of the reason why players are mad about them. Knives, weapons, agents, badges, cases, and almost every other tradable item has a roster of skins tagging along. Owning a highly coveted or rare skin is a huge source of pride for Counter-Strike 2 players.
However, skins seem to have taken the description of being collector items to a ridiculous extent. Some skins are worth upwards of $5,000. And given the price cap of $2,000 on the Steam Market, players are forced to use third-party websites.
In this article, we will take a look at the 11 most expensive skins in Counter-Strike 2 as of September 2024 and we bet you will be surprised at some of the prices.
Most expensive skins in Counter-Strike 2
1. Karambit Case Hardened (Blue Gem)
Cost: $1.5 million+
The Karambit Case Hardened, pattern 387 (blue gem), in Factory New pattern, is worth a ton of money. In 2016, someone purchased it for around $100,000.
But now, that price has risen astronomically. The proof is that the current owner turned down an offer of €1.2 million, which is around $1.5 million. Currently, we would venture that the price could have made it upwards of $2 million.
What is the reason for this ridiculous price? It's the rarity of the skin because the chances of opening the same knife from cases is 1 in 371 million. The blue gem Karambit is also the best pattern and this skin happens to be the only one in Factory New condition. Case in point, in June 2023, a well-worn 387 Karambit was purchased for over $100,000.
2. AK-47 Case Hardened (661)
Cost: $40,000 - $1 million+
AK-47 Case Hardened skins usually trade for just a few hundred dollars. What makes pattern 661 different is the fact that most of the visible region of the assault rifle is covered with "blue gem" motifs.
A well-worn pattern 661 skin can retail anywhere between $50,000 - $60,000. However, a StatTrak Factory New version was confirmed in January 2024, and given its one-of-a-kind nature, it was valued at over $1 million.
On June 5, Sam "roflem0nster" Alexander revealed the sale of this skin on X. This guy was one of the deal brokers, and although he didn't reveal the exact price, he said that multiple $1 million offers were turned down.
While it may seem impossible, there is a way that the pattern 661 skin could retail for more price than it already does, and that is by applying Titan stickers. A 661 AK-47 plastered with four Titan Holos and in StatTrak Minimal Wear condition was sold for $400,000. This is the highest recorded price of a skin that has actually sold. But this price is not solely due to the skin, but also due to the stickers.
3. Souvenir AWP Dragon Lore
Cost: $50,000 - $200,000
AWP skins are generally pricey, the Dragon Lore being the priciest. The Souvenir version is the most expensive among these. A Factory New version can be sold for upwards of $150,000. Even if it is well-worn, the skin will still fetch around $50,000.
The Souvenir skins feature an event, or an esports match, and gold stickers of the teams involved. Currently, only 114 Souvenir AWP Dragon Lores exist.
4. Sport Gloves" Vice / Pandora's Box
Cost (Factory New): $15,000 - $40,000+
Sport Gloves are part of the 17 gloves introduced in the Glove Case update in Counter-Strike: GO. The colorful Sport Gloves are the most expensive, and Pandora's Box is one of these. It retails at around $50,000.
The price is much higher for Factory New condition gloves. Field-Tested Vice Gloves trade for just $2,000.
5. Karambit / Butterfly / M9 Bayonet: Emerald / Sapphire
Cost: $8,000 - $15,000
While typical Doppler knives cost around $1,000, Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald versions take that price up more than ten times. Karambit, Butterfly Knives, and M9 Bayonets in Emerald or Sapphire versions are the most expensive skins currently. The prices are upwards of $10,000. In fact, in 2023, the highest price was around $20,000.
6. AWP Gungnir
Cost: $6,000 - $17,000
Replacing Desert Hydra, the second most expensive AWP skin in Counter-Strike 2, is the Gungnir skin. It was added to CS:GO in 2019 as part of the Norse collection. A Factory New version of this skin costs above $10,000 and some go above $12,000 too. A well-worn version might cost less. Only 3,300 skins are currently in circulation.
7. Factory New Crimson Web Knives
Cost: $5,000
Crimson Web knives are just like Doppler knives and if in Factory New, StatTrak condition, they can sell for over $10,000. M9 Bayonet Crimson Webs have sold for over $14,000. However, some skins can be traded for around $6,000 too.
8. M4A4 Howl
Cost: $3,000 - $22,000
The M4A4 Howl is part of the larger controversy over ownership of a skin's artwork, and, for that reason, is extremely rare and hence, extremely pricey. Factory New and StatTrak versions sell for around $20,000. Apply the right stickers and this price can shoot up to over $100,000.
In 2020, a StatTrak Factory New Howl with 4 iBuyPower Holo stickers was sold for just this much. Today, that price would likely have doubled.
9. AK-47 Wild Lotus
Cost: $2,500 - $15,000
The AK-47 Wild Lotus skin has only 3,000 copies in circulation. It was added recently in 2019 to the game and is part of the St. Marc collection. Given it's striking aesthetic, a Factory New version of this skin will fetch over $10,000. A Wild Lotus with 4 Reason Holo stickers sold for over $160,000 in March 2023.
10. AK-47 Gold Arabesque (Souvenir)
Cost: $1,500 - $8,000
Earlier, the Gold Arabesque skin traded below $2,000 due to its abundance from Souvenir cases. However, once Dust2 was removed from the map pool, the prices have gone up. A Factory New souvenir version will cost more than $6,000 today. The highest-ever recorded price was $10,000.
11. AK-47 Fire Serpent
Cost: $400 - $6,000
The Fire Serpent skin was released in 2013 with the Operation Bravo case and has, since then, become a classic rarity. A StatTrak and Factory New version can be sold for around $5,000.
The rarity of skins in Counter-Strike 2 depends on which of the eight tiers it occupies: Consumer (White), Industrial (Light blue), Mil-Spec (Blue), Restricted (Purple), Classified (Pink) Covert (Red), Contraband (Orange), Extraordinary (Gold). A skin of grade Consumer is the most common and one of Extraordinary grade is the rarest.
Along with this classification, the price of a CS2 skin is determined by the existing available stock. Valve has stopped producing the M4A4 Howl skin whose price since then has shot up.
