Nintendo Switch 2 release date and design details have been revealed in a new podcast by an accessory company.
Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date is March or April 2025 and its Design is Complete |
Rumors about the next Nintendo console, the Nintendo Switch 2, are picking up speed as more info comes out. Ruben Mercado, CEO of Blade, a company that makes gaming accessories, shared some exciting details. According to him, the design for the Switch 2 is done, and it could be released around March or April 2025.
Nintendo Switch 2 Release Date and Design News
Mercado talked about this in a recent podcast, saying his company is already making accessories for the new console. He thinks the release date depends on how well the current Nintendo Switch is selling. If sales don’t go as expected, Nintendo might launch the Switch 2 by March 2025. If everything goes well, they could wait until April, which is the start of the new financial year. Either way, it looks like the new console will be available globally around that time.
Now, even though Nintendo hasn't confirmed anything, rumors have been flying for weeks. Some people have even leaked pictures of what they think the new console looks like. However, Mercado said the leaked images aren’t 100% accurate but are still pretty close to the final design.
One cool thing Mercado shared was about the new Joy-Con controllers. He said the Switch 2’s Joy-Cons will have magnetic connections and a locking system to keep them in place. Plus, the new controllers will have different analogue sticks, so accessories made for the original Switch won’t fit with the new ones.
There are also reports that the Switch 2 will have backward compatibility, meaning it will play games from the original Switch. Recent updates to the current Switch’s software could be a sign that it’s getting ready for better-quality games on the new console.
While this news is exciting, it's still just rumors until Nintendo makes an official announcement. Some sources are guessing we might see a sneak peek of the Switch 2 as early as October 2024. For now, we’ll just have to wait and see.
But this isn’t the first time we've heard about the Switch 2, though. Earlier this year, there were similar leaks about its design and features. With more companies like Blade talking about it, the excitement is growing.
Nintendo is known for keeping things secret until they’re ready, so it's no surprise they haven't confirmed anything yet. But with the original Switch nearing the end of its life, the timing seems right for a new console.
Will the Switch 2 bring new ways to play, just like past Nintendo consoles? We’ll have to wait and see. But one thing is clear that the next year could be a big one for Nintendo fans.
