The much-anticipated Genshin Impact 5.1 update is coming out on October 9, 2024, and fans are buzzing with excitement. During a special program, HoYoverse revealed more details about the update. Interestingly, two localization team members hosted the event instead of the usual voice actors due to an ongoing strike.
The Genshin 5.1 update, titled The Rainbow Destined to Burn, will continue the story in Natlan and introduce fresh characters, new events, and some cool gameplay improvements. Here is all that we know.
Genshin Impact 5.1 Story and Characters
In this update, players will get two new chapters of the Archon Quest—Beyond the Smoke and Mirror and The Rainbow Destined to Burn. The Traveler will team up with the Pyro Archon to fight off attacks from the Abyss, while also exploring a different path with Capitano, one of the Fatui Harbingers. Along the way, players will meet new characters like Citlali, Ororon, and Xilonen. Out of these, Xilonen will be the only one playable for now.
Xilonen is a 5-star Geo sword user. She’s known for making legendary gear and has strong combat skills. Her abilities not only reduce enemies’ resistance but also heal allies, which makes her a great asset to any team. She also plays a big role in the Tribal Chronicles: Nanatzcayan Quest, where players can learn more about her and Natlan’s ancient history. Finishing this story in version 5.1 will give players some extra Primogems.
Genshin Impact 5.1 Events
As usual, the new update brings a bunch of limited-time events. Here are a few highlights:
- Aphid Treasure Trace: A combat challenge event with Primogems as rewards.
- Chromatic Ode of Candies and Roses: A mini-game event where players help organize the next Sabzeruz Festival. Rewards include a free copy of Candace and more Primogems.
- Feast of Pursuit: Another combat challenge that offers Primogems.
- Reminiscent Regiment: Thrill: A co-op combat challenge, again with Primogems up for grabs.
- Liben’s Daily Commissions: An event where players can exchange materials for rewards and unlock lore-related content.
On top of that, the Sumeru region will be celebrating Nahida’s birthday. Players can join the festival and even become the Knight of Flowers in a parade. There will be mini-games and combat challenges to enjoy during the festivities.
Genshin Impact 5.1 Features and Changes
The 5.1 update is also introducing some quality-of-life improvements. A new boss, the Secret Source Constructor, will drop rare materials needed for ascending Xilonen. Plus, new echo cosmetics for Zhongli and Keqing will let players customize their walking animations. The Genius Invokation TCG mode is getting some balance changes and new cards to keep things fresh.
One of the biggest updates is a skip feature for the Spiral Abyss. If you’ve already finished floor 11, you’ll be able to skip floor 9 during the next reset. And if you complete all 12 floors, you can skip both floor 9 and 10 in future resets. This should save a lot of time for players grinding through the Spiral Abyss.
There are also some updates for character building. Artifact preferences will now be saved, so you won’t need to reselect filters each time you equip someone. The inventory will also display the number of craftable items, making it easier to track your resources. The crafting bench will have new sorting options to help players find recipes related to character ascension goals, reducing the production of unnecessary materials.
Genshin Impact 5.1 Banners, Weapons, and Quests
The update comes with two new Genshin Impact 5.1 banners. In Phase 1, from October 9 to 29, players can wish for Xilonen and another 5-star Geo sword user, Chiori. In Phase 2, from October 30 to November 19, Nahida and Hu Tao will be the featured characters.
Though there hasn’t been an official announcement about new weapons yet, but leaks suggest that a new 5-star sword called Peak Patrol Song could be coming. Players will also get to play two new acts of the Archon Quest, teaming up with Xilonen to fight off the Abyss threat in Natlan. Completing these quests will give you 500 Primogems, and you can earn an additional 400 Primogems by completing specific world quests and exploration goals.
All in all, Genshin Impact 5.1 is shaping up to be a huge update, packed with exciting new characters like Xilonen, events, and much more. So, with all these new features, this update is sure to keep fans entertained for a long time.
