According to these leaks, the main storyline is set to progress in Penacony, and a highly anticipated Imaginary Element character is expected to appear earlier than previously speculated. Additionally, HoYoverse has officially revealed the first 5-star character for this patch: Rappa, an Imaginary character following the Erudition Path.

Honkai Star Rail 2.6 Banners Officially Revealed
HoYoverse has confirmed that Rappa is the new 5-star Imaginary character that will follow the Erudition path through a recent drip marketing campaign.
She will be released in HSR 2.6 banner which is expected to release in October. Rappa is specialized in dealing damage to multiple enemies at once, making her the first Imaginary unit among the Erudition characters in Honkai Star Rail. Rappa is a member of the Galaxy Rangers faction, which also includes Boothill, though their in-game connection remains unclear.

According to leaks, Rappa has a unique technique where she rides a knife while rapping, leaving colorful graffiti in her wake. When she attacks enemies, all opponents are hit, reducing their Toughness. Her abilities also include regenerating energy at the start of her turn, and her Eidolons (E1, E2, etc.) add benefits like extra skill casts, reducing enemy Toughness, boosting ally speed, and enhancing her Imaginary damage.

Honkai Star Rail 2.6 Banner Characters and Rerun Leaks
Leaks suggest that the HSR 2.6 banner will introduce only one new 5-star character in the gacha, with an Imaginary Element character potentially debuting either as a 5-star or 4-star. This means three characters are expected to return for reruns.
Based on the past patterns, Acheron and Aventurine are likely candidates for their first rerun appearances in the HSR 2.6 banner, though the third rerun character remains uncertain.
Adding to this, previous leaks from Seele Leaks suggest that Sunday could debut in Version 2.6 instead. While the Element for Sunday is still unconfirmed, earlier rumors pointed to them being an Imaginary-Harmony character before conflicting reports arose. Additionally, Sunday is speculated to receive a new golden cape design, according to leaks.
Currently, the only Imaginary Element characters in the Harmony Path are the 4-star Yukong and the Trailblazer (Harmony). Sunday’s potential arrival would be a significant addition to the roster of playable characters. But these are mere rumors for now.
Though only one new character might be introduced in HSR, all three banner characters are popular among fans, which is sure to create excitement. However, it's crucial to keep in mind that these leaks are speculative until officially confirmed by the developers.
