Players of Wuthering Waves have much to look forward to as a number of adjustments and enhancements to the game are included in the impending Wuthering Waves 1.1 update, "Thaw of Eons".
The official trailer for Wuthering Waves' first significant update was finally released by Kuro Games, and it features a ton of material. So let's explore all that coming with the Wuthering Waves 1.1 update.
What's New in Wuthering Waves 1.1 Update?
Fans have plenty to look forward to in the major 1.1 update. But what's the most exciting part? The two new characters for sure. Players will get to meet Jinhsi and Changli, who will join the roster with Wuthering Waves 1.1 banner. Along with new characters, players will see changes to the Echo system and various gameplay optimizations.
Version 1.1 introduces a new Main Quest: Chapter 1 Act 7, and a Companion Quest: Immortal Blaze. There's also a new area, Mt. Firmament, an option to invert the Y-axis, and a new boss named Jue. We will also get several new events like the Depths of Illusive Realm event that will feature new content, like new challenges, mechanics, more playable characters, and buffs.
Wuthering Waves 1.1 Characters
- Jinhsi (Spectro): A powerful 5-star Resonator and current Magistrate of Jinzhou, Jinhsi is known for her DPS potential. Jinhsi wields a broadblade and is presently searching for Jue, and we might be able to help her with this.
- Changli (Fusion): Changli is mysterious, loyal master tactician and fighter, also a 5-star Resonator wielding a sword. Changli's strike combinations are his main technique since he constantly showers opponents with Fusion damage.
Wuthering Waves 1.1 Weapons
- Ages of Harvest: Jinhsi’s signature 5-star Broadblade is called Ages of Harvest and will be featured on a WuWa 1.1 weapon banner. It boasts an ATK main stat and Crit Rate substat. Its effect includes: "Gain a 12% additional DMG Bonus for all Attributes. Basic Attack strikes bestow divine blessings, increasing DMG by 48% for 2.5 seconds after four stacks."
- Blazing Brilliance: The Blazing Brilliance, which is Changli’s signature 5-star weapon, will also be included in the game. The equipped character gains CRIT Rate and stacks that raise their Resonance Skill DMG when they use Blazing Brilliance. This works nicely for Changli because the majority of her DMG is classified as Resonance Skill DMG.
Wuthering Waves 1.1 Echo System
Seven new Echoes will debut in Version 1.1 and will be available in the Mt. Firmament area. These new Echoes include:
- Sentinel “Jue” (Cost 4)
- Lumiscale Construct (Cost 3)
- Lightcrusher (Cost 3)
- Lava Larva (Cost 1)
- Clang Bang (Cost 1)
- Dwarf Cassowary (Cost 1)
Apart from the new Echoes, Kuro Games is also introducing new features and optimizations in Echo System. These new features include:
- Tuner Synthesis Feature: A new feature will allow players to synthesize lower-grade Tuners into higher-grade ones, addressing the issue of excess low-grade Tuners in the late game.
- Increased Union EXP Reward: The reward for unlocking new Echo entries will be increased to help players level up faster. Players will be compensated for any differences based on their progress in version 1.0.
- Higher COST Range for Echo Rewards: To improve player experience, COST 1 Echoes will be removed from the Activity Points reward pool. Now, only COST 3 and COST 4 Echoes will be given as rewards.
- Data Bank Level Cap Raised: The level cap for the Data Bank will be raised to Lv. 21, guaranteeing 5-Star Rarity Echoes at this level.
- Echo Transformation: In select areas of Mt. Firmament, players can transform into Echo "Clang Bang" for exploration.
- Other Optimizations:
- The Tacet Field reward collection animation will be removed for direct collection.
- The Shell Credit Cost for Echo leveling will be lowered.
- The Cruisewing Challenge will be simplified by reducing flying speed and extending the time limit.
Wuthering Waves 1.1 Events and Rewards
- New Depths of Illusive Realm Content: A new event called "Dreams Ablaze in Darkness" will be introduced, featuring new mechanics and increased total event rewards of 1000 Astrites.
- Mt. Firmament Area Events: Two new area events will be available: "Tales from Mt. Firmament" and "Traces of Mt. Firmament." Completing these events will earn players up to 800 Astrites and other rewards.
- Increased Convene Item Exchange Limit: Players can now redeem up to seven of each Convene Item in the Oscillated Coral Store per installment.
- Preview of Special Events: Apart from the ones mentioned above WuWa 1.1 update will also bring several special events, including:
- 7-day login event [Gifts of Celestial Light]
- Featured commission event [Lollo Campaign]
- Featured combat event [Tactical Simulacra]
- Double drop events for leveling materials and Echoes
Wuthering Waves 1.1 Map Exploration System
- New Layered Map for Mt. Firmament: A layered map feature will be added to help players explore the complex new Mt. Firmament area.
- New Area Quest Progress: Players will be able to track their progress on Exploration Quests via Map - Exploration Progress.
- Expanded Lootmapper Detection Range: The detection range for the Lootmapper will be expanded, making it easier to find undiscovered Supply Chests.
Wuthering Waves 1.1 Quest and Gallery System
- Resonator Gallery Feature: Players can check all unlocked Resonators and their unlocked time in the Gallery - Crossing Stars.
- Story Dialogue Gallery Feature: All completed Main Quests and Companion Stories dialogues will be accessible in Gallery - Main Story.
- Lower Level Requirements for Main Quests: To unlock late-game content earlier, the level requirements for some Main Quests will be lowered. Main Quest Chapter 1 Act 4 will now unlock at Union Lv. 11.
- More Guidebook Activity Points Quests: The variety and number of daily Activity Points tasks will be increased to make quests more enjoyable.
- Additional Experience Optimizations:
- Combat Style Tags will categorize the mechanics of different Resonators to help players understand their combat styles better.
- The chat system will be displayed at a half-screen height for easier use during gameplay.
- New camera adjustment settings for controller mode, allowing players to invert horizontal and vertical camera controls.
- Shortcut key for Open Chat will be changed to Open Map.
- Key remapping for certain buttons on Sony PlayStation controllers will be enabled, similar to Xbox controllers.
Wuthering Waves 1.1 Release Date and Server Downtime
The Wuthering Waves 1.1 update will be released on June 28, 2024. The game servers will be down for seven hours starting at 6 AM (UTC+8) for the update. Players will be able to download the update during this time and dive into the new content immediately.
