Rainbow Six Siege Operation New Blood Recruit Remaster: Striker and Sentry
In the Operation New Blood update, the old Recruit character is getting a big change. Instead of just a blank slate, there will now be two new versions: Striker for attackers and Sentry for defenders. Both will be available for everyone to use in all game modes, including Ranked.
Striker: The Attacker Recruit
Previously, Recruits were generic and lacked unique abilities. Now, Striker takes the offensive role. They can choose from a wide range of attacking secondary gadgets, including breach charges, claymores, frag grenades, and more.
Striker wields the M4 assault rifle and the M249 light machine gun as primary weapons, along with the 5.7 USG handgun and ITA12S shotgun as secondary options.
Sentry: The Defender Recruit
On the defensive side, Sentry specializes in protecting the bomb. They have access to all secondary gadgets for Defense Operators, such as barbed wire, bulletproof cameras, and deployable shields.
Sentry’s primary weapons include the Commando 9 assault rifle and the M870 shotgun, while their secondary choices are the C75 Auto machine pistol and the Super Shorty shotgun.
Rainbow Six Siege Operation New Blood Nerfs: Fenrir and Solis
In the Rainbow Six Siege Operation New Blood, key nerfs were introduced to two operators, Fenrir and Solis, to balance the gameplay.
Both Solis and Fenrir were so strong in the Defensive meta that they often got banned, so it's no shock that they got nerfed. Even though it’s tough seeing two of my favorite Operators become weaker, these changes are necessary to balance them with the rest of the Defense without making them useless.
- Fenrir: The changes to Fenrir revolve around his F-NATT Dread Mines. The number of mines he has is reduced to 4, and he now has 2 tickets to activate the mines. Additionally, the mines are no longer bulletproof. This means that they can now be destroyed by gunfire, reducing their effectiveness in denying access to attackers. These changes aim to balance Fenrir’s abilities and make the gameplay more challenging for those who choose this operator.
- Solis: Solis is another defender operator who has been nerfed in Operation New Blood. Solis’ SPEC-IO Electro Sensor also received significant changes. The sensor is now unavailable during the prep phase, and its duration has been reduced to 10 seconds. The detection range is now set to 12 meters, and the sensor must be at full charge to use. These nerfs are designed to limit Solis’ ability to gather information, thereby increasing the game’s difficulty and strategic depth.
Rainbow 6 Siege Marketplace in R6 Y2S9
The Rainbow 6 Siege Marketplace is a new feature introduced in the Year 9 Season 2 update, “Operation New Blood”. It’s a web platform designed to provide a safe and anonymous environment for players to trade skins.
The Marketplace has been available in a test version for some time, but starting in R6 Y9S2, it will be officially open to everyone in its full form.
The marketplace uses R6 Credits as the medium of exchange, allowing players to buy, sell, and trade skins securely.
To access the marketplace, players must reach at least clearance level 25 and have Two-Factor Authentication enabled. This requirement ensures a certain level of security and maturity in the trading environment.
Well, Operation New Blood is set to shake things up in Rainbow Six Siege. There's a new look for the Recruit character, a Marketplace where you can buy stuff, and important changes to Fenrir and Solis that will weaken them. These updates in R6 Y9S2 will definitely affect how the game is played, especially in competitions. It'll be exciting to see how players adjust to these new changes.
