Special events are frequently held by Pokemon GO developer Niantic, giving players an increased chance of catching specific Pokemon or introducing new species to the game. Now, the July 2024 Community Day, featuring Tynamo, has been officially announced, and players are buzzing with excitement.
On Sunday, July 21, 2024, Tynamo Community Day will be held, and here's all the information you need to know about the July 2024 Tynamo Community Day, including the event's date and time, Shiny Tynamo, extra benefits offered during the day, and more.
Pokemon GO Tynamo Community Day date and time
Tynamo Community Day will take place on Sunday, July 21, 2024, from 2 PM to 5 PM local time. However, if you miss Tynamo Community Day, you can still play Eelektrik in four-star Raids from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. After you defeat it, Tynamo will appear in the gym for 30 minutes.
Pokemon GO Tynamo Community Day event Bonuses
Players can enjoy numerous bonuses during Tynamo Community Day, including:
- 1/4 Hatch Distance: When eggs are placed in incubators during the event, they will hatch in a quarter of the usual distance.
- Double Catch Candy: You’ll earn twice the Candy for catching Pokemon.
- XL Candy: Trainers level 31 and above have double the chance of receiving XL Candy from catching Pokemon.
- Extended Incense Duration: Incense (excluding Daily Adventure Incense) activated during the event will last for three hours.
- Three-Hour Lures: Lures activated during the event will also last for three hours.
- Surprise Snapshots: Take a few snapshots during the event for a surprise.
- Extra Special Trades: One additional Special Trade can be made, up to a maximum of three for the day.
- Field Research Rewards: Event-specific Field Research focused on Tynamo will offer further rewards.
There will be additional advantages like more spawns and cheaper trade expenses.

Pokemon GO Tynamo Community Day Four-Star Raids
In Pokémon GO, players can participate in rare 4-Star Raid Battles with Eelektrik, Tynamo's evolved form. During these raids, additional Tynamo spawns appear around the Gym for 30 minutes after beating Eelektrik.
It's crucial to remember that players must be present in person to participate in these exclusive additional 4-Star Raid Battles; Remote Raid Passes cannot be used for this purpose.
It is advisable to prepare well, which includes gathering a significant amount of Pokeballs, to increase your chances of catching lots of Pokemon that could show up during these raids.
Pokemon GO Tynamo Community Day Featured Moves
During the event, players that evolve an Eelektrik will eventually obtain an Eelektross equipped with the Featured Attack Volt Switch. Volt Switch is a Fast Attack that may be utilized in Gyms and Raids with a power of 14 and in Trainer Battles with a power of 12. That's a better fast attack power than Spark.
Shiny Tynamo and Its Evolutions
As with most Community Day events, Shiny Tynamo will appear more frequently.
Shiny Tynamo features a slight color change, with the yellow streak on its body turning orange. Shiny Eelektrik doesn’t differ much, but Shiny Eelektross stands out with a deep green replacing its usual dark blue.
It takes 100 Tynamo Candy and a Unova Stone to evolve an Eelektrik into an Eelektross. The good news is that from the beginning of Tynamo Community Day until 10 p.m., players in need of a stone or two can take advantage of special Timed Research, which can be completed in exchange for Unova Stones.
Pokemon GO Tynamo Community Day Special Research and Timed Research
During Tynamo Community Day, players can participate in Special Research and Timed Research, both offering various in-game rewards. There’s also an option to purchase a $1 Special Research ticket for additional bonuses.
To get ready for Tynamo Community Day:
- Stock Up on Incense: It lasts longer during the event.
- Save Lure Modules: They will work for three hours during the event.
- Collect Ultra Balls: Useful for catching the special Pokemon.
- Clear Your Storage: Transfer unwanted Pokemon to make room for new catches.
- Familiarize Yourself with Event Bonuses: Knowing the bonuses can help you make the most of the event.
- Take Snapshots: You might get a surprise by taking pictures during the event.
Special Timed Research available from the start of Tynamo Community Day until 10 PM will offer Unova Stones as rewards.
Pokemon GO Tynamo Community Day Field Research
Players will get a Community Day-themed Field Research, offering rewards such as Tynamo encounters, Stardust, Great Balls, and more. For example, catching three Tynamo could earn you:
- Tynamo encounter
- 5 Great Balls
- 2 Ultra Balls
- 2 Pinap Berries
- 2 Golden Razz Berries
- 500 Stardust
Other Rewards for Pokemon July 2024 Community Day
Ultra Community Day Box: Available for $4.99, it includes 10 Ultra Balls, one Elite Charged TM, and one Special Research story ticket. Moreover, along with other Tainers, players with Pokémon Trainer Club (PTC) accounts can also log into the Pokémon GO Web Store to get these boxes.
Event Bundles: Players will get two bundles during this event. You can purchase 50 Ultra Balls, five Super Incubators, one Elite Charged TM, and five Lucky Eggs for 1,350 PokéCoins. And you will get 30 Ultra Balls, one Incense, three Super Incubators, and one Lure Module for 480 PokéCoins.

Event-themed stickers will also be available by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.
Well, in March 2021, this fish-shaped Electric Pokemon made its debut in Pokemon GO, along with its evolved forms, Eelektross, and Eelektrik. And now on July 21st, 2024, Tynamo will take center stage with July 2024 Community Day, giving players a much better chance to catch it in the wild.
In addition, there will be one Community Day event in August too. Although the August Pokemon feature has not yet been announced, the upcoming Community Day is scheduled for Saturday, August 31st, according to the schedule that was previously made public for this season.
