The characters appearing in HSR 2.4 banners have already been unveiled by HoYoverse, and Yunli and Jiaoqiu are the two new 5-star units we will be receiving.
Yunli is reportedly expected to be a five-star Physical element character, following the Path of the Destruction. We will discuss Honkai Star Rail Yunli's abilities, VAs, and other topics here in detail.
Who is Yunli in Honkai Star Rail?
Following the Penacony arc, Honkai Star Rail returns to Xianzhou Loufu with new story chapters and characters. And Yunli, one of these new characters, will make her debut in this setting.
She is a prodigious swordmaster from Xianzhou Zhuming, granddaughter of Huaiyan, and has trained in swordsmanship from a young age. Yunli is determined to erase all cursed swords originating from Zhuming and possesses a straightforward personality.

HSR Yunli Abilities
Leaks from reliable sources, such as HomeDGCat, have provided some details about Yunli’s abilities. Yunli is expected to be a 5-star character following the Path of Destruction with a Physical element. Her abilities likely include:
Basic ATK: Galespin Summersault
Deals Physical DMG equal to 100% of Yunli's ATK to a single enemy.
Skill: Bladeborne Quake
Restores HP equal to 30% of Yunli's ATK plus 200, and deals Physical DMG equal to 120% of Yunli's ATK to a single enemy target and Physical DMG equal to 60% of Yunli's ATK to adjacent targets.
Ultimate: Earthbind, Etherbreak
Consumes 120 Energy. Yunli gains Block and Taunts all enemies, lasting until the end of the next turn of an allied or enemy unit. While Block is active, Yunli's CRIT DMG increases by 100%. When the Counter Talent effect is triggered while Block is active, it will be switched to a Counter Intuit: Cull effect and also dispel Block. If no Counters are triggered while Block is active, when the effect ends, Yunli will immediately launch a Counter Intuit: Slash effect on a random enemy target. When an Intuit: Slash is inflicted, it will cause the next Intuit: Slash to become an Intuit: Cull.
Intuit: Slash: Deals Physical DMG to the target equal to 240% of Yunli's ATK, and deals Physical DMG to adjacent targets equal to 120% of Yunli's ATK.
Intuit: Cull: Deals Physical DMG equal to 240% of Yunli's ATK to the target, and deals Physical DMG equal to 120% of Yunli's ATK to adjacent targets. Then, additionally deals 6 instance(s) of DMG, with each instance dealing Physical DMG equal to 80% of Yunli's ATK to a random single enemy target. When Yunli deals DMG through this ability, it will be viewed as Ultimate DMG.
Counter
An effect that automatically triggers when the target is attacked, which unleashes an extra attack on the attacker. Counter is also considered a follow-up attack.
Talent: Flashforge
When Yunli is attacked by an enemy target, immediately launches a Counter on the attacker, dealing Physical DMG equal to 120% of Yunli's ATK, and Physical DMG to adjacent targets equal to 60% of Yunli's ATK.
Attack
Attacks an enemy, and when the battle starts, reduces their Toughness of the corresponding Type.
Technique: Posterior Precedence
Gains the Ward effect for 15 seconds. When entering combat by attacking enemies or receiving an attack, immediately inflicts Intuit: Cull on a random enemy target, and increases this attack's DMG by 80%.
Honkai Star Rail Yunli Traces
The following are HSR Yunli traces and their effects:
- Fiery Wheel: Upon being attacked, Yunli additionaly regenerates 15.0 extra Energy.
- Demon Quell: While in the Block state, resists the Crowd Control debuff received and reduces DMG received by 20.0%.
- True Sunder: When using a Counter, increases Yunli's ATK by 30.0% for 1 turn.
Honkai Star Rail Yunli Eidolons
- Eidolon 1: Weathered Blade Does Not Sully
DMG from Intuit: Slash and Intuit: Cull increases by 20.0%, and Intuit: Cull's extra DMG Hits increases by 3.0.
- Eidolon 2: First Luster Breaks Dawn
Yunli increases her own CRIT Rate by 18.0% at the end of the turn, lasting until the beginning of the next turn.
- Eidolon 3: Mastlength Twirls Mountweight
Skill Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Basic ATK Lv. +1, up to a maximum of Lv. 10.
- Eidolon 4: Artisan's Ironsong
When Yunli deals DMG via launching a Counter, ignores 20.0% of the target's DEF.
- Eidolon 5: Blade of Old Outlasts All
Ultimate Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15. Talent Lv. +2, up to a maximum of Lv. 15.
- Eidolon 6: Walk in Blade, Talk in Zither
After using Ultimate, if the next unit to act is an enemy unit, Intuit: Cull will be triggered regardless of whether it is targeting Yunli, and the Block effect provided by the Ultimate will not be dispelled and will last until the end of the next turn. This effect can only be triggered 1.0 per turn.
Honkai Star Rail Yunli’s Release Date
While HoYoverse has indicated that Yunli will be accessible alongside the first half of version 2.4, the official release date remains undetermined. By the end of July 2024, if everything goes according to the typical six-week cycle, she should be available.
I will, however, update this section of the guide as soon as Yunli from Hoyoverse has an official release date.
Yunli seems like a strong character all around. Her technique adds a strategic element to her gameplay by shielding friends from impending attacks. Her ability to deplete her own HP and her potent follow-up strike, which serves as her primary source of damage, further indicates that she will be a dynamic and adaptable addition to any squad.
But do note that before the version 2.4 upgrade is formally released, the information may change.
