Every XDefiant Faction and Role - All Abilities and Uses |
Ubisoft's XDefiant is a free-to-play arena shooter that features characters from various Ubisoft games released in recent years. The game offers a fresh experience for both FPS genre fans and Ubisoft enthusiasts. If you enjoy fast-paced games like Call of Duty, you'll love XDefiant. But before you start playing, it's important to know about the different factions, as there are many to choose from.
Factions are groups of three agents, each coming from different Ubisoft games. Some of the games these agents come from include Far Cry 6, Watch Dogs 2, and Tom Clancy’s series like The Division and Splinter Cell.
Here's a simple guide to all the XDefiant Factions and their abilities in the game.
Every XDefiant Faction & Their Role
There are five factions in XDefiant. Here’s a quick look at each one and their roles:
- Cleaners: The Pyro Technicians (from The Division)
- Dedsec: The Cyber Attackers (from Watch Dogs 2)
- Echelon: The Super Spies (from Splinter Cell)
- Libertad: The Freedom Fighters (from Far Cry 6)
- Phantoms: The Future Soldiers (from Ghost Recon Phantoms)
Each faction has unique abilities and powers, which we'll discuss in the following section.
All XDefiant Faction Abilities
In XDefiant, there are five factions, each with unique abilities and roles. Let’s dive into them:
XDefiant Cleaners
- Firebomb: Throw a Molotov to cause explosive damage and set fire to the surrounding area.
- Incinerator Drone: Send a napalm-delivering drone in a short path forward, burning everything in its flight path.
- Incendiary Rounds: Inflicts extra burn damage but decreases weapon range.
- The Purifier: Equip a flamethrower and ensure enemies are thoroughly sterilized.
Cleaners come from The Division's world and also appear as Pyro Technicians in XDefiant. They specialize in fire, using equipment that can burn everything in their way. Their active abilities cause a lot of damage through flames and aerial attacks.
However, their passive trait increases fire damage but reduces their bullet range. Their ultimate ability lets them use a flamethrower, staying true to their role in The Division’s lore of sanitation and cleaning. This XDefiant faction is ideal for players who like to play aggressively and boldly.
XDefiant Echelon
- Sonar Goggles (Ultra): Reveals enemies and allows you to hunt them down using the classic Third Echelon 5.7 pistol.
- Intel Suit (Ability): Shares the last known locations of enemies with your team.
- Digital Ghillie Suit (Ability): Makes you nearly invisible, but movement and aiming reduces the effect.
- Low Profile (Passive): You won’t appear on enemy mini-maps.
Echelons are the super spies in Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell games. They have special abilities that make them almost invisible or let them see enemies with sonar waves. They also have skills that keep them hidden on the opponent’s minimap.
Their ultimate ability reveals enemies and lets them hunt them down using Sam Fisher’s famous 5.7 pistol. If you enjoy playing stealthily, sneaking around, and outsmarting other players, this faction is perfect for you.
XDefiant Libertad
- Medico Supremo (Ultra): The backpack gives you a big health boost for a short time.
- Espiritu de Libertad (Passive Trait): Slowly heals you and nearby allies.
- El Remedio (Ability): Launches a revitalizing gas canister that heals friendlies.
- BioVida Boost (Ability): Boosts total health and regeneration for you and your nearby allies.
The Libertads are a group from Far Cry 6, featured as the healers or medics in XDefiant. Their special abilities let them heal both themselves and their teammates for a short time. They also have a passive trait that heals, but much more slowly.
Their ultimate ability gives a big health boost for a limited time. This XDefiant faction is ideal for players who want to go on killing sprees without worrying about their health.
XDefiant Phantoms
- Aegis (Ultra): A spherical plasma shield paired with an electric scattergun.
- Hardened (Passive Trait): Increased health due to tailored gene therapies.
- Mag Barrier (Ability): An electromagnetic barrier that blocks incoming enemy fire and grenades.
- Blitz Shield (Ability): Equips a tactical shield for a shield bash.
The Future Soldiers from Ghost Recon Phantoms are like the best at defense. They have amazing abilities that help them block enemy attacks. One ability lets them put up shields or barriers to stop bullets and grenades.
They also have a trait called Hardened that makes them tougher by giving them more health. And when things get really intense, they can use their ultra ability to create a big shield, which is great for fighting up close.
XDefiant Dedsec
- Hijack: Hack and control enemy devices
- Spiderbot: Stun enemies with a robotic spider
- Lockout: Disable enemies’ HUD and abilities
- Fabricator: Automatically replenish gadgets
DedSec is another faction, originally featured in the Watch Dogs 2 franchise. In short, DedSec represents a group of hackers known for their disruptive tactics and cyber warfare abilities.
DedSec’s toolkit is designed to disrupt the enemy’s strategies and provide their team with a technological edge in combat. They are perfect for players who enjoy a playstyle centered around control and sabotage.
