League of Legends Arena Game Mode release date, new changes, new PvE mode, and more have been hinted at in the new dev video.
League of Legends Arena Game Mode Return |
League Arena mode became incredibly popular despite Riot's original intention not to make it a permanent addition. However, Riot Games surprised fans with their latest 'dev updates' video for League of Legends, announcing the return of Arena mode to League of Legends. In the video, the developers shared exciting news about updates to the LoL Arena game mode, a peek at the new PvE mode, and more.
League of Legends Arena game mode changes
Since its introduction to League of Legends, Arena mode has been a major hit. However, the mode seemed to be losing some of its popularity over time. To tackle the situation, Riot decided to give it a makeover.
Riot is implementing several changes to add more variety and extend its appeal to a wider audience. Here are some of the key Arena mode changes that were highlighted in their recent dev video:
- Larger Arena Lobby
- Substantial Changes to the Item System
- Introduction of a New Class of Items - Prismatic
- Item Gambling Using Anvils
The largest update for Arena is that there will be eight competing teams instead of just four when it returns to League servers. Teams continue to comprise two partnered players, but as of the 2024 update, there will be 16 participants in each lobby for larger-than-ever Arena matches.
There will also be a new class for items called Prismatic introduced in an upcoming item system update. Builds and tactical choices made during games will be redefined by these items.
Additionally, item acquisition is being revamped. Rather than just buying items from the store, members of League of Legends Arena can now use anvils to make bets on items to potentially obtain them for less money.
Riot hopes to keep the game mode more interesting than it has been with these adjustments, particularly with the lobby size. Moreover, in addition to announcing Arena's comeback, Riot revealed Arena's new Bullet Heaven game mode.
New Mode in LoL Arena: Bullet Heaven
With Arena, Riot has been developing something completely new. The PvE Bullet Heaven Survivor mode, a novel twist on League's PvP-only core gameplay, is anticipated soon. In this mode, you can fight hundreds of enemies by yourself or in groups. Riot claims that this new PvE mode will be unlike anything that League of Legends players have encountered yet.
Later this year, this mode should debut along with the mid-year League of Legends event.
League of Legends Arena Game Mode return date
According to the latest details from the Dev Update, League of Legends will see the return of Arena during the MSI Event, the same event that might also bring the Empyrean skinline back.
Well, more information on the new LoL Arena mode will be revealed soon with the release of the Dev Blog.
