Riot has finally revealed details on the League of Legends Skarner Rework and VGU, which will be made available in the PBE until patch 14.6 and then released in patch 14.7.

The time has finally come for Skarner VGU after Riot completed some amazing mini-reworks in Season 14, which restored the ranks of various champions in both solo queue and pro play.
Scorpion fans worldwide will finally be able to see Skarner's updated ability set in 2024, after the wait of a torturous two years since he won in Riot Games' League of Legends VGU fan election. A new trailer via Riot revealed some LoL Skarner changes which will be available in the game later this week along with the LoL patch 14.7.
League of Legends Skarner Rework - Patch 14.7
There has been an extended development period for the Skarner VGU, but Riot recently revealed the exact time we will be able to acquire the reworked Skarner.
"As part of his VGU we've updated Earthrune Skarner to bring this skin up to par with more modern ones, so we'll be increasing its tier to Deluxe and adjusting the price accordingly," Riot said while dropping a new gameplay teaser on March 18 for the League of Legends Skarner rework.

After going through the rework, Skarner's kit has entirely different elements than it did in 2011. Moreover, to keep up with the most recent game updates, Riot has also given him a makeover that includes new champion designs, all-new visual and audio effects, and the full nine yards.
The Skarner rework update will be available with patch 14.7 (not LoL 14.6 patch), according to the information provided as he will be on PBE for around a week and will be released when the LoL 14.7 patch begins.
League of Legends Skarner Abilities Changes
While the trailer offers a glimpse into Skarner's updated abilities, the full extent of the modifications can be experienced on the PBE. Here's a breakdown of the changes made to Skarner's abilities:
LoL Skarner’s Passive – Threads of Vibration
Skarner’s attacks, Shattered Earth, Upheaval, and Impale apply Quaking to enemies. Enemies with three stacks of Quaking take % Max HP damage over time.
LoL Skarner’s Q –
- Shattered Earth: Skarner rips a rock out of the ground and uses it to empower his next three attacks with bonus damage, range, and attack speed. His third attack slams the rock into his target, slowing and dealing significant bonus damage, ending the effect.
- Upheaval: Skarner may re-cast Upheaval to throw the rock as a projectile that explodes on the first enemy hit, dealing the same damage and slow, ending the effect.
LoL Skarner’s W – Seismic Bastion
Skarner gains a shield and slams into the ground, releasing a shockwave that damages and slows nearby enemies.
LoL Skarner’s E – Ixtal’s Impact
Skarner charges forward, ignoring terrain, and grabs the first enemy champion or large monster he collides with. He may then carry them a short way, damaging and stunning them if they collide with terrain.
LoL Skarner’s R – Impale
Skarner impales up to three enemy champions, damaging and suppressing them. Skarner gains bonus movement speed for a short time and carries them with him until the end of the effect.

Developers also released the updated skin splash arts for Skarner Rework in addition to Skarner's improved abilities, and based on the first look, Skarner's design has changed a lot, moving away from the dark purple tones and toward a blue and ivory color scheme.
He's obviously been working out because in addition to his three stingers, fearsome mandibles, and terrifyingly focused glare when he runs you down with a well-timed gank, he also has a much more buffed appearance than he previously had.

League of Legends Skarner Rework Release Date
As previously mentioned, the entire new LoL Skarner rework will be available in the LoL patch 14.7, so on April 3, 2024, fans may anticipate seeing the updated Skarner.
Overall, Skarner underwent a significant overhaul that changed his lore, his style of play, and his allure as a champion. His appearance has significantly improved, and he now poses a far more serious threat, capable of starting a game-winning teamfight or gank.
Riot has buffed up Skarner to do some solid damage with many utilities. In addition to being able to take out an enemy without using his ultimate, he can CC numerous adversaries at once. He can also avoid terrain, which is advantageous for his jungler persona. Still, there's a chance these Skarner abilities will continue to change as there is still some time between the reveal and LoL patch 14.7 on April 3.
