A set of leaked gameplay videos for Helldivers 2 has given us a sneak peek at the upcoming addition of mechs and AI soldiers to the game.

The gamer who first shared the video on Reddit claimed to have discovered the Helldivers 2 mechs this week while playing a random game. According to the player, another participant was able to summon various types of mechs, providing the ability to switch between rockets and a machine gun. Additionally, they reported sightings of new weapons like an energy RPG, a devastating meteorite attack, and a set of NPC support characters that could be called in for assistance.
Now more of Helldivers 2 mech gameplay, which appears to be an explanation video for a datamined Stratagem, has surfaced after the original post. In the video, the mech is dropped by a dropship onto the battlefield, ready for the Helldiver to leap into. However, this mech fires a rocket launcher on one side and a minigun on the other.

Furthermore, a lot of other footage of Helldivers 2 mech gameplay has just started to surface on social media, offering us yet another look at the mechs.
While these leaks seem compelling, the revelations don't stop there. In the comments section, the player shared three gameplay clips, claiming they feature AI soldiers summoned to reinforce players in Helldivers 2, based on datamined Stratagems not yet accessible in the game.

The first clip showcasing the AI soldiers appears surprisingly polished for an unfinished feature, while the next two exhibit rougher edges, with the soldiers gliding over terrain instead of navigating rocky outcrops and struggling to respond effectively to enemy Terminids.
However, it's crucial to bear in mind that the mere extraction of content from a game's files via datamining does not confirm its inclusion in the game. Developer Arrowhead might still be refining AI soldiers, or the feature could have been abandoned. Without an official statement on AI soldiers, certainty remains elusive.
As for the mechs, they were a feature in the original Helldivers and were hinted at in a pre-release teaser for the second game as "coming soon after launch."
Since the game's release earlier this month, gamers have been experiencing server problems. Now that these issues have been fixed, Arrowhead chief Johan Pilestedt stated the studio can focus on making improvements to the game and developing new content. He declared, "We now have the time to concentrate on title improvements and go back to our original plan. A lot of exciting stuff is coming up!"
Additionally, when a developer revealed earlier this month that mechs were being worked on for Helldivers 2, players were overjoyed. Thus, the release of Helldivers 2 Mechs may not be too far off.
