Palworld On PS5: Palworld will come to PlayStation hints devs and executives |
Palworld is creating quite a buzz in the gaming world, thanks to its unique concept that involves engaging with Pals, adorable creatures like in Pokémon, in unconventional ways such as using machine guns and rocket launchers.
Despite being on the market for less than a week, Pocketpair's survival game has already sold over 7 million copies on Steam. The game's rising popularity has led many to wonder if eventually, Palworld will come to PS5 and PS4. The demand on social media has been noticeable, prompting discussions about the possibility in the game's official FAQ and with PlayStation's executives.
Responding to the inquiries, Shuhei Yoshida, a prominent figure at PlayStation, replied simply "yes" in a message posted to X (previously Twitter), when questioned about Palworld's release on PS5. Yoshida even tagged another PlayStation colleague, Jingwen Zhu, in his post to underscore the interest and requests from PS5 and PS4 users to see Palworld on Sony's PS5 consoles. While Yoshida's response doesn't confirm an immediate release of Palworld for PlayStation consoles, it indicates that Sony is acknowledging player feedback.
Additionally, addressing the possibility on their end, developer Pocketpair in the FAQ section mentioned, “We don’t have plans for this at the moment, but will consider it during development!” While it may not be the ideal response for eager PS5 owners, it's a more optimistic stance than an outright rejection. The developer remains open to the idea and will evaluate the option as they continue refining the game.
One factor contributing to the absence of Palworld on PlayStation platforms is the lack of an early access program comparable to Steam’s Early Access and Xbox’s Game Preview. Hence, there is a high chance that Palworld will come to PlayStation upon its full launch.
Also, considering the extensive user base, exceeding 150 million on PS5 and PS4 combined, it would be a logical move for Pocketpair to bring Palworld to PlayStation, especially to sustain Palworld's current momentum. At present, though, the Japanese-based company is probably just happy that Palworld has begun off so swiftly and been such a huge success in its initial days on the market.
