The long-awaited Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) has finally given us a sneak peek with its first trailer. Now, before the official release, the trailer accidentally leaked online earlier than it was supposed to.
But, even with that little hiccup, the trailer became a big hit on YouTube. In fact, it broke a world record for the most views in a short amount of time. The previous record-holder was a popular YouTuber named MrBeast.
The GTA 6 Trailer Sets a 24-hour YouTube Record
GTA 6 has been in development for a long time. The company making it, Rockstar Games, had promised to show the first trailer in early December for their 25th anniversary. But, someone leaked the trailer before it was supposed to come out. Because of the leak, Rockstar decided to release the trailer 15 hours earlier than planned. They said on Twitter, "Our trailer has leaked, so please watch the real thing on YouTube."
However, before it even came out, fans thought it would get a lot of views on YouTube and beat a record set by a popular YouTuber named MrBeast. MrBeast had a video called '7 Days Stranded at Sea' that got 46 million views in one day, setting a record for non-music videos.
Well, when the GTA 6 trailer was released, it did even better. In less than 13 hours, it got more than 59.4 million views, breaking MrBeast's record. So, the GTA 6 trailer became the new king of YouTube views for non-music videos in 24 hours.
Even though MrBeast has a ton of subscribers (216 million), people still thought GTA 6 would win, and they were right. The game trailer is now the new champ in the YouTube views game.
MrBeast acknowledged this by saying on Twitter, "The GTA 6 trailer just broke our record for most views on YouTube in 24 hours" with a surprised face emoji.

The trailer doesn't show how the game is played, but it does show beautiful views of Vice City, which is a location in the game. The graphics, or the way the game looks, are very impressive. The trailer also introduces us to a main character named Lucia, a female protagonist.
