According to a recent leak, Rocket Racing will eventually get a "harder" Fortnite Death Race mode.
Fortnite Death Race Mode - A harder mode in Rocket Racing leaked |
Three new game modes were added in Fortnite Chapter 5: LEGO, Fortnite Festival, and Rocket Racing. A mode named Fortnite Death Race was first mentioned as a component of the racing suite that was being developed. However, new details concerning this mode were recently discovered by known dataminers, and they showed that it would make the racetrack difficult with spikes and other hazards meant to knock cars into walls.
The details surrounding these dangerous elements of the new Fortnite Death Race Mode are still unknown, but a leaked video showed off an early version of the Death Race map Wedge, giving fans a preview of what's to come. Let's get into the details.
Fortnite Death Race Mode - A harder mode in Rocket Racing leaked
New information regarding an upcoming Fortnite Death Race mode in Rocket Racing has been revealed on Twitter by a reliable Fortnite dataminer @BeastFNCreative.
According to their claims, Death Race will have a new goal in which users can "make the track harder to complete" by arranging various deadly objects. Spikes are specifically mentioned in the tweet, but anything that permits "other players to be kicked into walls" might also be included in the mode.

The Fortnite Death Race mode was also discovered in September by @iFireMonkey, a trustworthy leaker on Twitter. However, at the time, they were in the dark about Death Race.
Before it was formally announced as Rocket Racing, the mode was only acknowledged as a playlist for "Del Mar." But later in the same month, @iFireMonkey discovered an "unfinished 'Wedge' map" for Death Race. They also shared an image of the map on Twitter along with other essential gameplay maps.

Now, although SpushFNBR indicates that the content may be "coming soon," Death Race has not yet been formally announced by Epic Games as of this writing. Hence, neither a possible release date nor any other significant information is known.
Fans are speculating that the Death Race mode might be released in early 2024. In Rocket Racing, the creators did formally reveal some exciting ideas for Season 1. With "speed run leaderboards, further customization options, [and] creator-made tracks," it will launch in the first half of 2024. An optional Death Race mode that allows users to build their own obstacles would undoubtedly benefit from the addition of original music. Ultimately, both require the player to be creative.
If the information above turns out to be true, Fortnite's expanding Rocket Racing community will have a lot to look forward to in the coming months.
