In the most recent court hearing, it has been revealed that the famous GTA 6 hacker is still eager to commit more crimes after being released from jail.
GTA 6 Hacker is Still Eager to Commit More Crimes |
Last year, on September 18, 2022, a hacker named "teapotuberhacker" broke into the Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) game and shared 90 videos of the game on GTAForums. These videos showed about 50 minutes of the game in progress. The hacker, who was an 18-year-old from Oxford, England, was part of a group called Lapsus$, which targeted several big companies.
To carry out the hack, the teenager used an Amazon Fire Stick to access Rockstar's messaging service called Slack. This breach turned out to be one of the biggest leaks in recent video game history. Eventually, the hacker was caught by authorities.
During the court hearing today, a psychiatrist named Dr. Claudia Camden-Smith shared something concerning the accused. Let’s discuss the whole story.
Today’s Court Hearing - GTA 6 Hacker is Still Eager to Commit More Crimes
According to a BBC report by Joe Tidy, Kurtaj appeared in a video call from Feltham prison. He looked unemotional, sitting at a desk in a black t-shirt. Tidy observed that he blinked frequently and ran his fingers on the desk.
Kurtaj is on video link from Feltham prison. He is sat alone at a desk in a black t-shirt. He has been deemed unfit to stand trial because of his autism.

Kurtaj didn't go to trial because psychiatrists considered him unfit. Dr. Claudia Camden-Smith, who evaluated Kurtaj, answered questions in court. The Daily Mail reported that a prosecutor asked her if Kurtaj was eager to commit more crimes. She replied, "That is what he told me the last time I saw him."
Judge Patricia Lee delayed the sentencing to later this month, detaining Kurtaj under the Mental Health Act, as she thinks he has a mental illness. Kurtaj is now under a 12-week hospital order because of his mental health issues.
Seems like Kurtaj wants to keep committing crimes if he gets the chance. He hasn't changed his mind about this even though he spent time in jail last year. Now, he's facing charges for breaking the UK's Computer Misuse Act, including things like blackmail and fraud.
The Whole Story - What Happened
An 18-year-old named Arion Kurtaj from Oxford, UK, was declared guilty by a court for being part of a hacking group called Lapsus$, known for hacking big companies like Nvidia and Rockstar Games. The court found that Kurtaj, who was already on bail for another hacking accusation, uploaded videos from a Travelodge hotel. These hacks caused a major leak of content from the yet-to-be-released game Grand Theft Auto 6 by Rockstar Games.
The jury found Kurtaj guilty of all 12 charges. Additionally, a 17-year-old, whose name is not disclosed due to their age, admitted to two hacking charges, was found guilty of another, and was not guilty of two charges. These two individuals started hacking together in July 2021 after interacting online.
Well, on December 4, 2023, Rockstar Games finally unveiled the first trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 after ten years of waiting. However, the game did suffer because of the leaked footage before the game's official reveal.
