In April, the much-awaited Fallout TV show will debut on Amazon Prime Video. Though many leaks from its production have come to light, not much is known about the series. However, in order to provide fans with a deeper understanding of the show's content, Vanity Fair just published an exclusive behind-the-scenes report that includes interviews, never-before-seen photos, and other information.
First Look of Fallout TV Show Reveals In a New Report
A few things are confirmed by Vanity Fair's updated preview of the upcoming Fallout series, which was published on November 28. Todd Howard of Bethesda first disclosed that the program is "canon" and takes place in the same universe as the video games.
Howard told Vanity Fair “We view what’s happening in the show as canon. That’s what’s great when someone else looks at your work and then translates it in some fashion.”
Vanity Fair went on further explaining, saying that Bethesda took care to ensure that the plots in the series could coexist with those found in the games and that everything in the new program is formally canonical with the franchise. Additionally, Howard said that some of the show's concepts and story updates were so brilliant that he and other Bethesda employees questioned, "Ah, why didn't we do that?"
The Fallout TV Series story will revolve around Lucy. |
It additionally revealed how Ella Purnell's character, Lucy, the show's main character, leaves one of the famous Vaults from the franchise and enters the post-apocalyptic wasteland to battle deadly creatures and mutant monsters. According to Todd Howard, the showrunners had extensive discussions about the style of humor, level, and type of violence, aiming to balance drama with a touch of wryness, a signature element of the franchise.
Vanity Fair made a lot of information public, and a lot more was either verified or reaffirmed for the first time after being leaked. It is now confirmed, for example, that the Brotherhood of Steel is going to appear in the series. However, the faction will arrive fully outfitted in the Prydwen, the airship that was featured in Fallout 4 (2015).
Now that we know the basics, let's deal with the question, "What's the Fallout TV show all about?"
Fallout TV Show: Storyline and Characters
Fallout series co-developer and executive producer Jonathan Nolan disclosed the main idea of the show in the extended teaser. We discovered a ton of new information on the setting, cast of characters, and plot of the eagerly awaited live-action Fallout TV show on Amazon Prime, which is based on Bethesda's well-known post-apocalyptic role-playing game series.
Instead of following a plot from the games, the series narrates a unique story that is connected to the franchise and its vast world. Moreover, the game and the program are regarded as canon, and, Walter Goggins still has a terrific appearance for an undead ghoul.
Speaking about ghoulified Goggins, Nolan was careful to ensure that he resembled the long-living, radioactive creatures known as ghouls from the Fallout video games, without being so unsettlingly zombie-like as to negate the original reason for using him.
Nolan said, "I need to be able to see Walton and his performance, he needs to look like a ghoul from the game, and he needs to be kind of hot. If you don’t mind a missing nose—and knowing the internet, that isn’t a problem for some folks—then Goggins is looking pretty dang good as a centuries-old undead bounty hunter."
Three characters will be important to the Fallout TV show: teenage soldier Maximus (Aaron Moten), a young girl named Lucy who lives in a vault, and Walton Goggins, who plays the enigmatic and stylish bounty hunter known only as The Ghoul. The other characters, who are each on their own missions, run upon Lucy when she leaves her Vault on a quest.
Fallout TV show is based on Bethesda's well-known post-apocalyptic RPG series. |
Well, announced in 2020, the Fallout TV series will finally grace our screens in April 2024 on Amazon Prime. However, since its announcement, we haven't seen much (officially) of the live-action adaption. In 2022, a few set photographs surfaced online, and Bethesda teased fans with a single series screenshot, which appears to be authentic based on the photos released in Vanity Fair's large preview.
That's all there is to it. This extensive, updated preview serves as our first genuine glimpse at what's to come in the Fallout TV show.
