------------------------------

Although specific details about new champion balance or map changes are currently unavailable, LoL Nexus Blitz 2023 will mostly retain its familiar format. It remains a 5v5 mode with random in-game events where players compete for power-ups.  The ultimate showdown between Nexuses occurs at the 18-minute mark, with the last standing Nexus emerging as the winner.

Some adjustments will be made in terms of itemization, considering changes since its last appearance three years ago. However, the only notable addition this year is the Jungle Pets, already familiar to players of Summoner's Rift. It's worth noting that the decision not to introduce significant changes is due to past issues with the mode's compatibility with various League of Legends updates.

The developer stated, "The gameplay is as you remember it, with a few tweaks to account for changes since its last appearance, such as the upgraded jungle items." Riot also claimed that Nexus Blitz was "completely broken" as a result of multiple League of Legends patches to further explain the lack of adjustments. Hence, to better analyze the mode and make tweaks as it develops to make it better for future releases, they want minimum alterations.

Well, League of Legends Nexus Blitz game mode is making a return after several years, and next to no changes is a bit surprising. In the past, returning features like the Statik Shiv item were significantly reworked, sometimes bearing little resemblance to their former versions.

Nexus Blitz, initially launched in 2018 and re-introduced in 2020, has undergone updates including improved events and rewards. However, it's not without its flaws. Snowballing and event spawn points have led to imbalance, and rewards like an Elder Dragon execute buff can give a team a powerful advantage, potentially undermining gameplay balance.

Hence, despite its appeal, concerns remain that the LoL Nexus Blitz 2023 mode might face a similar fate to previous game modes like Hexakill and Twisted Treeline if these issues persist.

The mode features a variety of events that occur every 3 to 3.30 minutes, where the winning team receives rewards. Some of these events include Bardle Royale, URF Deathmatch, Loot Teemo, Push the Cart, Prize Fight, King of the Hill, Scuttle Racing, Protect the Soraka, and DPS Check.

Rewards are also an integral part of Nexus Blitz, providing unique effects like Catapult of Champions, Blessing of Blitzcrank, Poro King, Battle Sled, Guardian Angels, Statikk Shock, B.F. Shields, Cloud Soul, Ocean Soul, and Elder Dragon.

LoL Nexus Blitz Events

Here's a rundown of all the events featured in Nexus Blitz:

  1. Bardle Royale (Classic): Engage in a battle for survival within a fiery circle of death that gradually closes in on a part of the map. The last team standing emerges victorious.
  2. Bardle Royale (Paranoia): Fight for survival within the fiery circle, but with a twist - everyone is nearsighted, creating a Nocturne ult-like effect. The last team surviving wins.
  3. Bardle Royale (Juggernaut): Confront the challenge of staying alive within the flaming circle. Additionally, a random champion on each team gains a significant health boost and the On Fire! buff at the event's start. (Note: The On Fire! buff provides bonus attack speed, adaptive power, and mana/energy regeneration, but increases vulnerability to damage.) The last surviving team wins.
  4. URF Deathmatch: Transition into URF mode while surrounded by enthusiastic minions! Overcome the opposing team in a best-of-three scenario to secure victory.
  5. Loot Teemo: A wandering Loot Teemo randomly spawns on the map. Striking the Loot Teemo rewards players with gold. The event concludes when one team manages to land the final hit on Teemo.
  6. Loot Veigar: Encounter a wandering Loot Veigar that materializes unpredictably on the map. This Veigar utilizes Dark Matter and Event Horizon while retreating. Hitting the Loot Veigar grants players gold. The team that scores the last hit on Veigar emerges as the victor.
  7. Push the Cart (Classic): Stand near the cart and guide it toward the nearest enemy structure for destruction.
  8. Push the Cart (Attack / Defend): Engage in a race with your opponents to obliterate an enemy structure in record time. This time, both teams possess a cart that they can maneuver.
  9. Prize Fight: Both teams engage in a sequence of rounds, involving fights of 2v2 and 1v1 matchups.
  10. King of the Hill: A designated area on the map becomes the "hill." Defend this position and repel the enemy team's advances to claim victory.
  11. Scuttle Racing: Witness two scuttles racing down a track (or scuttling, to be precise). Each team has one scuttle, and the initial scuttle to cross the finish line secures the win.
  12. Protect the Soraka: Two Soraka bots enter the lane, but only one will exit, as one team is tasked with eliminating the other.
  13. DPS Check: Similar to a practice mode, where you aim to outperform your opponent's practice on the same Teemo dummy.

  3. Poro King: The Poro King makes an appearance, aiding your team by pushing forward, attacking enemy turrets, breathing fire on foes, and periodically healing nearby allies.
  4. Battle Sled: Jump aboard a sled that transports you from your base to nearly any location on the map. The first person on the sled determines the direction.
  5. Guardian Angels: Each team member acquires a one-time Guardian Angel effect, offering a safeguard for 90 seconds.
