The Destiny 2 Final Shape expansion marks the culmination of the extensive Light and Dark narrative, which has been unfolding since the beginning of the first game in 2014. Scheduled for release on February 27, 2023, the expansion delves into the story where Guardians must venture into the Traveler to safeguard it from The Witness.
Throughout the DLC, players will interact with familiar figures like Zavala, Ikora, and even the long-awaited return of Cayde-6 after his demise in Forsaken. Since the Destiny 2 Final Shape DLC is poised to deliver a grand finale to one of gaming's most expansive sagas, it is natural that players are eagerly anticipating the contents of this expansion.

Destiny 2 Final Shape Raid: The Witness
As revealed thus far, players will have to face the Witness in the main Destiny 2 Final Shape Raid.
Additionally, Joe Blackburn, Destiny 2's game director, hinted in an interview with PC Gamer that there will be an additional mission unlocked after completing The Final Shape's raid (this mission features the Witness, a unique antagonist amalgamating an entire civilization). Blackburn explained that this mission's format will differ from those featuring Savathun and Calus. He emphasized that the Witness is designed to stand apart, even outclassing formidable characters like Atheon or Riven.
Destiny 2 Final Shape Supers: Three Lights
Players will find three distinct paths and three companions in Destiny 2 Final Shape. These paths weave into the fabric of players' identities, bestowing ageless power into your hands.
- Titan Super: With Void-honed blades, cut through the air and sustain the attack by lifting from the fallen foes' feet.
- Hunter Super: Wielding a dagger, become a flashing Arc in the darkness, a storm's edge your adversaries can't escape.

Destiny 2 Final Shape Story: Confront Oblivion
Destiny 2 Final Shape's story is full of threats and emerges as reality distorts into the twisted vision of the Witness. This expansion presents a gripping narrative that confronts players with a formidable new threat to humanity. Final Shape promises to introduce new planets, adversaries, and trials to overcome.
Players can prepare to take on an adventure to the heart of the Traveler, rally the Vanguard, and decisively resolve the War of Light and Darkness.
During the Final Shape showcase event, Bungie unveiled more about the expansion's storyline, which centers heavily around The Traveler. The massive enigmatic sphere has always played a role in Destiny, but The Final Shape elevates this, as The Traveler seeks assistance while The Witness employs its light for ominous purposes.
Destiny 2 Final Shape Destination: The Pale Heart
Players will explore a fresh destination with Destiny 2 Final Shape called The Pale Heart within The Traveler.
Bungie notes that The Pale Heart will feature nostalgic references spanning the Light and Darkness Saga, including a version of the original Tower from Destiny. As the first linear destination in Destiny's history, The Pale Heart will undergo gradual evolution. Additionally, The Pale Heart introduces Subjugators, a new enemy type wielding Stasis and Strand powers.

Moreover, The Final Shape will introduce three new Super abilities and Aspects - Void for Titans, Solar for Warlocks, and Arc for Hunters. It will also bring back classic weapons from Destiny 1 as exotic weapons.
Destiny 2 Final Shape Activities: The Only Way is Through
Players will have to overcome new challenges on the Guardian's treacherous journey. Inside the Traveler, players need to push back the corruption that has tainted this once-pure landscape.
Destiny 2 Final Shape Dungeon Key
The Final Shape Dungeon Key offers new pinnacle challenges for Annual Pass holders, unlocking two dungeons introduced during The Final Shape's year.
Apart from unveiling details about The Final Shape, Bungie also shared insights into Destiny 2's future. The game is moving away from releasing four seasons per year and adopting an episode-based approach, commencing with episodes launching in March 2024, right after The Final Shape's release. Bungie describes episodes as a new narrative and content update method.
Destiny 2 Episodes will replace Seasons as Destiny 2's storytelling and content update format starting in 2024. Each Episode, like Echoes, Revenant, and Heresy, will present a standalone story in three acts. Each act will be released every six weeks, featuring new stories, quests, activities, weapons, artifact mods, pass ranks, rewards, and exploring the aftermath of the Light and Darkness saga's conclusion.
Bungie emphasizes that episodes will introduce content and rewards more frequently than in previous Seasons of Destiny 2.
