The San Diego Comic-Con this week featured Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man 2's trailer, presenting fans with a closer look at the plot and characters in the game. The developers also shared that the voice of Venom will be cast by the veteran voice actor Tony Todd.

These two will battle Venom, who we think is the prime villain according to all the promotional material we've seen so far. What we do not know is who the host of Venom is.
Of course, before this host, Venom bonds with Peter Parker himself. His black symbiote costume is shown in previous Marvel's Spider-Man 2 trailers. We also get a glimpse of the awesome attacks Venom Peter has in his arsenal. Some staff have also hinted at how the suit's corruption plays a role in the overall plot.
Whenever there is this little information about a highly-anticipated video game such as this, theories and rumors are rife on the internet.
Now, based on the ad for a limited edition PlayStation 5 console (Marvel's Spider-Man 2-themed), released during the game's Comic-Con panel, fans are theorizing how Peter rids himself of Venom.
In the ad, Peter calls out to Miles for help as he struggles with the symbiote. Miles appears helpless for a moment, but then blasts the black spiders covering the screen away with his signature Venom Blast electricity. So it must be Miles who frees Peter from Venom. Thus theorizing the fans about Marvel's Spider-Man 2 story.
But there's solid evidence to support this Marvel's Spider-Man 2 story theory.
Is Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Story Theory Correct?
At the end of every trailer that features the tagline Be greater. Together, Miles' electricity blast is shown to clear away the overpowering black ooze. This is also confirmed in the comics. Miles Morales is originally from the Ultimate Marvel comics and there, it is clearly shown that Venom is vulnerable to Miles' electric powers, albeit in varying degrees according to the source.
One last piece of evidence is that Miles is one of those who notice a change in Venom Peter Parker's character as compared to normal Peter Parker. Miles could just be the one to break him free as he is one of those who knows about it.
The obvious comeback against this Marvel's Spider-Man 2 story theory is that that voiceover in the trailer could be from any scene. Maybe it is even spliced together from various scenes. But the way it's used in the trailer, along with the fact that Miles' electric powers are an obvious antidote to the symbiote, makes a strong case for this theory.
