UPDATE: 14/05/23
Operation Dread Factor's full disclosure occurred today, May 14, at 11:30 a.m. Pacific Time, and it provided a wealth of fresh information including the details on the new Y8S2 operator, Fenrir.
Despite hailing from the cordial country of Sweden, Fenrir's contributions to the table are everything but lighthearted. When it comes to fending off the opponent, this Defender approaches the situation differently.
Fenrir is more of a mad scientist than a battle-hardened soldier, and this is evident in both his distinctive outfit and his main weapon. Of course, whether he chooses to use an MP7 SMG or SASG-12 shotgun on the battlefield, he is more than proficient.
The F-NATT Dread Mine is its main gadget of Fenrir. These mines may be positioned anywhere, and when they explode, they release fear gas. The F-NATT's gas causes any attackers who get too close to it to become so terrified that they lose sight of their surroundings and experience the appearance of darkness. This is bad news for the attackers because it exposes them to fire from all defenses.
The F-NATT Dread Mines have a significant drawback in that they must be manually activated. Only three of the five mines that Fenrir may deploy can be remotely activated.

Rainbow Six Siege Fenrir biography
The new operator would originate from Sweden, according to the Year 8 timeline for Siege's Y8S2. But data miners for Rainbow Six Siege have been working nonstop to find new details on the next operator.
According to renowned leaker lungu19, the new Sweden operator will operate under the moniker "Fenrir." Fenrir will join Team Rainbow as a Defender. According to the picture, Fenrir will have the ability to use five weapons at the start of a game, but you never know, developers might alter anything before the operator goes live.
Rainbow Six Siege Fenrir background |
The following has been revealed about R6 Fenrir's bio in the leaked image:
BACKGROUND
"Fear is a teacher. There's always a lesson to be learned."
Svensson was a curious boy growing up in Uppsala, where his parents encouraged his fascination with animal biology by enrolling him in every science class they could find. On track to attend his hometown's University to pursue his passion, his focus shifted following his mandatory service.
He learned that he had an affinity for physical fitness and tactical organization and became especially interested in how combat affects soldiers' emotional states. Following his service period, he studied neurochemistry and joined the Swedish Armed Forces, quickly earning his way up.
As a communicator in the Special Operations Group, he expanded his skillset and aimed to develop strategies that would improve his peers' performance. When his project to create formulas that alter soldiers' emotions was denied, his insistence caused him to be discharged.
Estranged from his family and made a pariah in the scientific and military communities, he had few options when Deimos approached him. With his newfound partner and funding, Svensson developed his technology until it became evident that he was being used to create a dangerous weapon. Taking his research with him, Svensson escaped Deimos's facility and sought out Rainbow.
SPECIALIST PROFILE
On paper, Fenrir is exactly the type of person Rainbow would seek to recruit. He's an intellectual and an ambitious tactician in peak form. As I learned more about his career path, I realized the traits that led to his military discharge are ones I expect in a member of Redhammer: unflinching drive, conviction, and readiness to put himself in harm's way when necessary.
I can't fully absolve him of his work with Deimos, but I can relate to the regret Svensson feels. He had no prior knowledge of the enemy's operations, so I can't blame him for accepting the offer.
