In the 2019 video game Sylas: The Unshackled, a revolutionary magician named Sylas fights against injustice in the realm of Demacia, which outlaws witchcraft. Sylas was imprisoned in a Mageseeker camp after a mishap that resulted in the deaths of three people, but he managed to escape using Lux's power.
After escaping, Sylas enlisted exiled mages and set out to overthrow the Demacian monarchy. The brief film "Magic is Rising: Stand With Sylas," which was released on the day of Sylas' release, shows images of mages being captured by Demacian soldiers and has a voice-over that expresses The Unshackled's disappointment with Demacian values.
