You may be aware that several characters were released alongside the release of the entire game. However, now a new tank hero will be coming to the game soon. It has been officially confirmed that Overwatch 2 Ramattra is this tank hero. Despite the name, Ramattra is male, and he has a lot to offer to his team.

Overwatch 2 Ramattra announcement
The official Twitter account of Overwatch 2 has put up new gameplay footage that shows the brand new Overwatch 2 Ramattra hero with all his flair. Take a look at it below.
On November 26th, the devs shared new clips on Ramattra, sharing the story of our new Tempo Tank.
The video description says: "Overwatch 2's latest tank hero is Ramattra, a relentless omnic fighting for the survival of his people. Overwatch’s first tempo tank, Ramattra combines various lethal playstyles as he transitions between his Omnic and Nemesis forms. Get acquainted with Ramattra’s ability kit in his Gameplay Trailer and get ready for his debut in Season 2 on December 6."
The developers claim that the Omnic form has a shield and a staff that shoots nanite particles at targets in the distance with minimal damage falloff but with a lead time.

Overwatch 2 Ramattra abilities

Once he appears in the game, the tank—who can execute unique moves specific to each of its forms—could fundamentally alter how Overwatch 2 is played. Check out the detailed info on Overwatch 2 Ramattra abilities below:
- Void Accelerator (Omnic Form):
Launches a stream of projectiles in a fixed pattern.
- Void Barrier (Omnic Form):
Creates a barrier at the targeted location that blocks incoming damage.
- Nemesis Form:
Transform into Nemesis Form, which makes you larger, provides extra armor, and changes your attacks.
- Pummel (Nemesis Form):
Punches forward, creating a wave of energy with every swing.
- Block (Nemesis Form):
Significantly reduces incoming damage from the front, but also reduces your movement speed.
- Ravenous Vortex:
Fire a nano ball that explodes when it hits the ground, spreading a field that does moderate damage, slows enemies, and pulls them downward.
- Ramattra's Ultimate (Annihilation):
Create a swarm of nanobots that creep out in front of you and leech onto nearby enemies, dealing damage and reducing enemy damage dealt by 50%. The Ultimate also doesn't end while these nanobots are attached, allowing Ramattra to keep it active until he dies, his enemies do, or foes are able to escape from its area-of-effect.

Both of Ramattra's attacks are based on Overwatch 2 players' routines. The developers claim that the Omnic form has a shield and a staff that shoots nanite particles at targets in the distance with minimal damage falloff but with a lead time. This form is better appropriate for the "poke phase," during which teams discuss their potential course of action.
The Nemesis form is designed to get up in the faces of the other squad.
Overwatch 2 Season 2 starts on December 6, 2022. Ramattra is the new character you will be seeing in the title. Ramattra's Ultimate was showcased in the final gameplay in a location that resembles the Temple map of Nepal. However, there is a capture point and a roadway with a path-like shape that is large enough for cargo to be pushed through before the stairs.
Therefore, the following map might be an Escort or Hybrid map in a different part of Nepal or in a brand-new area that serves as a sanctuary for Omnic monks outside of Nepal.
There’s also the content roadmap of Season 2 that was shared by Blizzard Entertainment. There will be some special skins in the game it seems and also a new map.
In total, we can expect a new map in Season 2 of Overwatch 2. And of course, there will be the classic maps and rewards in addition to this. Lot’s of stuff to look forward to in the Season 2 of this title.
