When Riot Games first launched the beta version of their free-to-play first-person hero shooter video game Valorant in 2020, it went on to amass the second most concurrent viewers for any game ever on Twitch, with 1.73 million viewers tuning in across dozens of streams. Since then, it has been on the path to success, with Riot Games pumping out new content every now and then.

Valorant is now in its third year of operation, having been launched in 2019. Valorant came with four maps and ten Agents in the beta edition and now due to its great success, it has nineteen Agents and seven maps by 2022. Of course, there are all of Valorant's battle passes, skin bundles, and game modes to consider.

Now coming to the new update in the game, Act 2 of Episode 5 will be the next Valorant episode having a new Agent and new map.

With Valorant Episode 5 Act 1 we got a new map - Pearl, along with a Valorant Prelude to Chaos skin bundle, a new battle pass, and a few balance changes. However, the update did not had any new Agent but it is likely that with Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 both a new Agent and a new map will be added to the game.

Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 release date

Before anything, it is important to know, "When will Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 be released?"

Ignoring any delays, August 23, 2022, is the official Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 release date. This release date has been deduced from the fact that Riot Games has always been consistent with new content for this game and the Episode 5 Act 1 battle pass ends a day before, that is August 22.

As far as the content itself is concerned, the least that can be expected from Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 is a new battle pass with the accompanying cosmetic rewards.

However, unfortunately, there will be no new Agent or Map Changes with Act 2. Act 2 will launch with a New Battlepass, Champions Event Pass, Champions Bundle, and the new Crosshair Copy/Settings Features.

In the past, Valorant has released some excellent battle passes. Skin bundles are particular popularity among fans. They have, however, also had some negative gameplay effects.

As with their previous battle passes, Riot has once again added a series of new skin sets in the most recent update. The forthcoming Battle Pass's theme is centered around myths and legends.

Three sets of weapon skins are included in the Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 Battle Pass. This Battle Pass includes three levels of skin acquisition, the same as the others: Premium, Deluxe, and Select. Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 - Piedra Del Sol:

The Piedra Del Sol skin will be given to the following guns-

  1. Bucky
  2. Ghost
  3. Judge
  4. Phantom
  5. Melee

Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 - Premiere Collision Skinline:

The Premiere Collision Skinline has the following skins-

  1. Ares
  2. Bulldog
  3. Classic

Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 - Immortalized Skinline:

The Immortalized Skinline has the following gun skins-

Ep 5 Act 2 Battle Pass should cost roughly 1000 VP, or about $10 in real-world currency, based on previous battle pass prices. Moreover, a new competitive queue will start concurrently with the Battle Pass, offering players a two-month chance to work their way up Valorant's ranked ladder.

Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 Weapon bundle - Champions 2022

The Champions 2022 bundle is scheduled for a timed exclusive release on August 23 as previously stated. The bundle stands for the upcoming Valorant Champions 2022, which is set to begin on August 31. Along with a Spray, Buddy, and Player Card, the bundle also comes with a Butterfly Knife and beautiful Phantom skin.

A complimentary Champions 2022 Event Pass with interesting rewards will also be included in the bundle. Moreover, the Champions 2022 bundle will come with the new Act as it debuts on August 23 and serves as a separate collection after Reaver 2.0.

Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 - Valorant Agent 21

Episode 4 Act 2 was the very first big Valorant update without a new Agent, however, with Episode 4 Act 3, Riot got back to normal.

But once again, we saw a major factor missing from an update in Valorant Episode 5 Act 1. Now disappointing the fans once again, Riot has revealed that Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 will not bring the next Agent 21 into the game.

Previously the company promised to bring a new agent in each act after Episode 4 Act 2, however, with Ep 5 Act 2 Riot has released two Acts without a new Agent. But we do have leaks on our next Valorant Agent 21.

Earlier, there wasn't any info on who might be the next Valorant agent coming in Episode 5 Act 2, however, that changed with recent leaks. Our data miners have already given us the codename of the Valorant Agent 21, "Mage" which tells us something about its possible unearthly nature.

It is ValorLeaks from whom we gained this information about the codename Mage of the 21st Agent in Valorant. Based on this name, there are some possible theories worth taking a look at to discuss the nature of this character.

Chamber and Fade, respectively, were the most recent additions to the sentinel and initiator rosters. This indicates that there is a need for recruitment as the controller category has been neglected for a while. Hence, we can rationally conclude that Mage might be the next controller in the game based on this concept. However, it's possible that the character will follow Omen's lead.

The agent might introduce a new strategy for playing the game by, obviously, deploying some form of magic. Due to the mana-inspired agent codename, this agent may possibly be a crossover with Riot's League of Legends.

Moreover, Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 will have the same 50-tier battle pass, which will include sprays, skins, Radianite Points, and more. A skin bundle will most likely be released at the same time as the new Episode's release.

Valorant Episode 5 Act 2 New Game Mode: HURM

A new game mode is going to debut in Valorant, and it's anticipated to be an improved version of the current Deathmatch format. The brand-new game mode, HURM, is said to be a classic Team Deathmatch structure with Agent abilities.

The game mode will include a Deathmatch, where players compete to be the first team to score 100 kills, according to the information revealed in the leaks. It differs from a traditional Deathmatch, when one player competes for 40 kills per game. HURM is merely a reported game mode without a release date or even a name. But it's anticipated that Episode 5 Act 2 of the game would see the introduction of this Valorant HURM game mode.

Now, before you get all excited and start anticipating new things for the next map in the game, we would like to remind you that there is no info about Valorant Map 9 release date.

As you might well be aware, we have had many leaks about the Pearl map before it got released in Episode 5 Act 1, however, we have no info on the next Valorant map. And Riot has also announced that no new map is being released in Ep 5 Act 2. However, we do have theories on Valorant Map 9.

Now, Riot has a habit of releasing a new map every Episode, like we got the Fracture map in Episode 3 Act 2, then the Pearl map with Episode 5 Act 1; there's little chance the developers will be able to cram in Valo Map 9 before the end of Episode 5.

Apart from a new map, Split was also removed from the Valorant map pool ahead of Pearl's release in Valorant patch 5.0 on June 22, which makes it the very first map to be removed from the game.

Giving the reason for Split's removal, the developer team said, “The team thinks seven is a nice sweet spot that offers both variety and mastery. You don’t have to spend all your time learning new angles, lineups, and strategies. New players will have an easier onboarding experience. And pro teams get to have deeper, more exciting playbooks.”
