New Tales from the Borderlands release date and price have been revealed, and it is sooner than you expected.
New Tales from the Borderlands details |
When Tales from the Borderlands was launched, it changed the direction of the FPS series by allowing players to become immersed in a narrative-driven game where they could select their own route.
After Telltale Games closed and had a corporate rebirth, it appeared doubtful that Tales from the Borderlands would ever see a sequel, but surprising the fans, it seems like Gearbox still has alot to tell. A Tales from the Borderlands sequel is in the works, Gearbox and 2K Games said earlier this year, though nothing else was confirmed outside a 2022 release date.
Tales from the Borderlands by Telltale Games was launched in 2014 to mostly underwhelming sales, but fans have great hopes for the New Tales from the Borderlands. A tiny number of fresh Tales from the Borderlands information have surfaced recently, even though the Tales from the Borderlands sequel has been in the works for a while.
New information regarding the New Tales from the Borderlands game has been revealed in retail listings, and it appears that the game's release date has also been confirmed.

New Tales from the Borderlands release date
The New Tales from the Borderlands release date was just announced and it is not far away. October 21st is the release window for New Tales from the Borderlands that was revealed via newly updated Amazon listings.
The Amazon sites for all editions of New Tales from the Borderlands, which has also been confirmed to be the official title, reveal the release date and price, as observed by the ever-vigilant eye of Wario64 on Twitter. Even though Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford hinted at a summer announcement, it appears like Amazon made the news before Gearbox did.

New Tales from the Borderlands price
Since the announcement of the new Tales from the Borderlands in April, Gearbox has developed the game internally rather than contracting out to a different studio like it did for the previous Tales from the Borderlands in 2014.
However, taking the lead in making an announcement, Amazon revealed the New Tales from the Borderlands price too.
The New Tales from the Borderlands will cost $50 across all platforms, which is significantly more expensive than the original game, which cost $5 per episode, or $25 for all five of them, according to the Amazon listings. The entire Tales from the Borderlands season is now available for about $20, which would imply a far more substantial sequel - New Tales from the Borderlands is forthcoming.

New Tales from the Borderlands platform
Even though the Amazon listing revealed the price and release date, the previous leak via the Rating revealed New Tales from the Borderlands platforms, gameplay, story, and more.
The sequel has been previously certified on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
As per Amazon, the video game "New Tales From the Borderlands" is scheduled to be released on October 21, 2022, and is already listed as physical copies for all of the previously mentioned platforms (Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and Switch) except PC.
New Tales from the Borderlands story
With regards to the New Tales from the Borderlands story, "Take a stand against ruthless corporate overlords in this story-driven adventure", says the product description. You'll be in charge of Anu, Octavio, and Fran as they experience the worst day of their lives in the constantly war-torn city of Promethea.
Further, it adds, "Support these three charming misfits as they work to transform the world—possibly even save it! Battle a planetary invasion, a ferocious vault monster, and a heartless capitalist in this action-packed movie where you decide what happens next. In this race to the top, meet a colorful crew of misfits, talking firearms, and assassin bots! It's time to counteract corporate greed and exploitation."

New Tales from the Borderlands gameplay and setting
There will be options for players to choose what happens in-game, similar to the first Tales From the Borderlands. Although the data about the playable characters reveal a fresh cast, the scenario will still be on Pandora, the original planet where the games all take place.
Players will have the option of choosing between Fran (who runs a frozen yogurt store) or Anu (a scientist), instead of Rhys or Fiona. Although nothing has been confirmed, Octavio, the brother of Anu, could be the third character.
One must "successfully press a sequence of buttons in response to on-screen prompts to pass the encounter" when meeting hostile humans, robots, or mutants. When this isn't done, the player frequently dies and must restart from the previous checkpoint. Which roughly aligns with the quick-time events from the original game.
A new crew and an M18 rating for strong violence and gore are included in the game. These ratings are indicated by the example encounters given, which include shooting, maiming, and an attempted head reattachment to a corpse. Additional violent scenes with blood splatter include shots to the chest or head of characters as well as stabbings with pistol grips to the eye. Of course, this is in addition to using foul language.
As the sequel has added new features that will distinguish it different from the first Tales from the Borderlands, it offers more combat situations and deaths than the first.

The first Tales from the Borderlands and the follow-up are both included in the New Tales from the Borderlands Deluxe Edition. Sadly, no details about extra bonuses have been provided, but it was stated that more information would be provided this summer.
Again, without a trailer and only a teaser image for the announcement, it's difficult to predict where Gearbox will take the franchise now as it has full creative freedom.
Both Gamescom and Geoff Keighley's relatively new showcase, Gamescom Opening Night Live, is just around the corner. It is likely that we will learn more about New Tales from the Borderlands at the event, which will take place on September 23 and last a little over two hours, and promises a lot of announcements and reveals. Stay tuned for more information.
And there you have it! That is pretty much everything that you would need to know about New Tales from the Borderlands until it actually gets here. Make sure to get a comfy seat because you will be stuck to this sequel (and therefore, the seat!).
