The very first game in the TLOU series was launched in 2013, and then The Last of Us Part 2 was announced in 2016, with a release date of 2020 (after a huge delay).
The story of TLOU 2 focused on two major protagonists, Ellie and Abby, with Ellie seeking vengeance for Joel's murder and exploring her relationship with sweetheart Dina, and Abby, a soldier caught in the crossfire between her militia and a religious cult.
The Last of Us Part 2 was launched in June 2020, and fans had been anticipating it for a long time because the first game was a tremendous success and fans were eagerly anticipating the follow-up.

On Sony's PlayStation Direct website, a teaser for the long-rumored The Last of Us Remake has emerged, formally validating a title change to The Last of Us Part 1.
The Last of Us Part 1 trailer was posted on Sony's PlayStation Direct website this morning, confirming a release date and a price tag for the forthcoming Remake.
The Last of Us Remake has been speculated since April 2021, and the leaked teaser indicates that the title has been redesigned to enjoy the benefits of the PlayStation 5's enhanced capabilities.
The Last of Us Part 1 (TLOU Remake) aims to bring the game's aesthetics and gameplay in line with its 2020 sequel, providing a title with the original's breakthrough storyline.

As affirmed by The Last of Us Part 1 trailer, September 2, 2022, has been revealed as the official The Last of Us Remake release date, which corresponds to earlier rumors that Sony planned to release the game in 2022.
Back in January 2022, a known industry insider, Tom Henderson revealed that The Last of Us PS 5 Remake is coming closer to the end of its development process and could possibly be released in the latter part of 2022.

Tom Henderson took to his Twitter account and revealed in a post that, he "Heard from multiple people now that the TLOU remake is nearly finished and could release during the latter half of 2022," which was additionally confirmed by VGC's sources.
Now other than the release date of TLOU Remake, the platforms and Price of the upcoming title have also been revealed.

A $69.99 price tag was discovered on The Last of Us Remake preorder website that went live for a short time before being taken down by Sony.
Additionally, it has been confirmed that, at launch, The Last of Us Part 1 will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive, with a PC version in the works.
The original The Last of Us is playable on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 (and even on PS5), and The Last of Us Part 2 is also playable on PlayStation 4 and Sony's Playstation 5, so it's only natural that the new TLOU remake will be a next-gen remake and will be playable on PS5.
The Last of Us was launched for the PlayStation 3 in 2013, followed by a remastered version for the Ps4 one year later. The Last of Us Part 2 was released in 2020 for Ps4 and Ps5. Although this follow-up is currently waiting for a multiplayer update, Naughty Dog is reportedly working on a PlayStation 5 remake of the original game.
HBO is also working on a tv program centered on The Last of Us, recreating the scenario from the very first title. Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian) will play Joel, and Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones) will play Ellie. Nick Offerman of Parks and Recreations will also feature in an untitled role.
