Skate 4 release date or reveal date has possibly been revealed and it is sooner than what many expected.
Skate 4 released date hinted at by new leaks |
The Tony Hawk game series has reigned the skateboard business for the past few years. However, after peaking in popularity, particularly among teens, this series has seen a steady fall in sales and fame in past few years.
And now to fill the void, another skateboarding video game franchise has gradually emerged, first competing, then leading the genre. Skate is the name of the franchise.
In the video game industry, Skate is the new name. Electronic Arts' numerous companies, including EA Mobile (which means it's available on mobile phones) and EA Black Box, created and published it.
Skate fans have been wondering when the long-awaited fourth installment of the game would be released since its unveiling at EA Play 2020. Up till now, the Skate game series has seen three sequels: Skate, Skate 2, and Skate 3. And as per a fresh claim, the fourth and most recent sequel, Skate 4, may get disclosed sooner than expected.
We've compiled all of the information we have about Skate 4, including its release date, platform, trailer, and more.

Skate 4
Skate has become synonymous with skateboarding. It paved the way for many future sports games with its realistic controls and innovative mechanisms. It's been a long period of time since the last sequel - Skate 3 was released in 2010, and as one might assume, fans all over the globe have been clamoring for a sequel for quite some time.
And the said successor was only recently confirmed. Following the resurrection of the Tony Hawk franchise, EA has officially confirmed in June 2020 at EA Play that a new Skate game - Skate 4 will be released sometime in the near future.
Skate 4 has the ability to expand the core mechanics of the series while also providing gamers with more of the customization possibilities that make Skate so unique.
But, except for a quick behind-the-scenes film in which several devs and notable skateboarding pros reaffirmed that they are "working on it," there hasn't been much information about the Skate 4 lately.
However, a recent leak suggests that EA may have something to announce very soon, as the potential Skate 4 release date has been disclosed.

Skate 4 Release Date
Tom Henderson, a renowned industry insider, predicts that Skate 4 will be announced in July through undisclosed sources.
"It's understood that the game has been undergoing significant playtesting these past few months, with the title being much further along in development than people may have assumed," Henderson said in the post.
Fans may be able to get their hands on Skate 4 soon after the reveal, according to Henderson and it has likely been said that EA intends to hold gameplay sessions for content creators and journalists to report on early impressions and, most likely, provide input as the game develops.
It's unclear what EA will show off during its complete reveal in the upcoming month, but new findings of internal gameplay testing and leaked gameplay snippets hint it could be full-on in-game footage.
However, no official release date has been set for the next installment in the Skate franchise, which obviously is Skate 4.

Skate 4 Gameplay
Though we don't have official info on Skate 4 gameplay, we do have dataminers and leakers dropping additional info.
Skate 4 gameplay was recently leaked, and it was well-received by the gaming world. Jeff Grubb, a Twitter user who is an analyst and a trusted and credible industry insider, leaked details about the Skate 4 gameplay.
The Skate 4 gameplay footage is 33 seconds long, and it appears that the game is still in its early phases of development.
The video depicts a player barreling down a path while performing the classic kickflips. He then goes boardless and performs some sick front flips. In Skate 4, we also see the bail effect when the skater doesn't land properly.
Electronic Arts have opted to do something different with this franchise, as revealed by the leaked Skate 4 gameplay clip, by moving away from the conventional and dull button-focused gameplay and introducing the "flick it" system.
This implies you won't be able to do tricks and whatnot in Skate 4 because you won't be able to hit buttons. Instead, you'll use the thumbsticks to perform stunts by moving them in specific directions.

Skate 4 Platforms
Outside of one platform, we haven't received formal confirmation of which platforms Skate 4 will be available on.
The forthcoming Skate game will be released on PC for the first time, according to EA. Other than that, there isn't any information, but it's safe to presume it'll be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X.
We couldn't say anything about last-gen hardware, but given that the game's release date is still a ways off, Xbox One or PS4 release doesn't seem appropriate.
Skate 4 Trailers
We have only been told that Skate 4 is currently in early development, so we haven't seen any gameplay yet. However, the developers have teased us with a few different teasers over the last few months.
- Skate 4 Announcement Trailer
The announcement occurred first, in 2021 during EA Play. This little video revealed nothing more than the news that a new Skate game is in development.
The clip from EA 2020 was shared by IGN and the description simply said,""
- Skate 4 Development Update Trailer
Then after a year of inactivity, we finally got another update on the project in July 2021, with a teaser.
The video description reads: You’re stoked, we’re stoked — but it’s still early. Watch the moment we shared a glimpse of the future of skate. with some of our biggest fans."

These are the only trailers we have received from the official end, however, Skate 4 getting released in July 2022 makes logical sense as it will be two years after its initial reveal.
Henderson's allegation also matches with EA's recent pronouncements about the development status of Skate, as CEO Andrew Wilson stated during the shareholder results call that Skate 4 would be released shortly, but the exact date wasn't revealed.
In addition, EA said that four titles will be released between 1st January 2023 and 31st March 2023, and if "soon" means within the next twelve months, Skate 4 could be a contender among the four anticipated titles in the spring.
And that is all there is to know about Skate 3's sequel Skate 4, including its release date, trailer, features, and more.
