This tale talks about the five Genshin Impact Yakshas, who were the five legendary beasts. You might be in the know about Xiao, who is the only Yaksha alive right now. Genshin Impact Bosacius (Electro Yaksha)

One of the eldest Genshin Impact Yakshas and the leader, Bosacius had the power to control thunder, which is the Electro element. He left the perpetual wars behind due to his accumulating karmic debt. But before that, he put all his treasures in the Minlin region of Liyue and disappeared.

Khaenri’ahn sent their beasts to Liyue to wage war on it again. Genshin Bosacius, however, was very much subdued fighting his karmic debt and finally spiraled into madness. He was attracted to the bloodshed and carnage in Chasm and joined arms against Khaenri’ahn beasts.

Bosacius teamed up with Boyang, a thaumaturge, and harnessing the power of the Fantastic Compass, a catalyst, they made a trap that would seal Khaenri’ahn beasts once and for all in the dark corners of Chasm.

But when it is time to spring the trap, Boyang and Bosacius will have to give up their lives and themselves become trapped among the beasts.

Genshin Impact Indarias (Pyro Yaksha)

We saw a glimpse of this Genshin Yaksha in “End of the Tunnel, Light,” in its backstory.

Indarius was called by Rex Lapis to fight the fight against the remaining Archon War as she had total mastery of Pyro, on top of being a Yaksha. We see in the backstory in the recent Archon Quests that Indarius had also fallen prey to karmic debt.

However, this is where she differs from Bosacius. While the latter succumbed to madness, Genshin Impact Indarius sadly passed away, washed away by despair, losing herself to the darkness around her.

Genshin Impact Menogias (Geo Yaksha) and Bonanus (Hydro Yaksha)

Menogias and Bonanus were two of the five Yakshas in Genshin Impact, being in fact stronger than the rest. Menogias was a master of Geo and Bonanus that of Hydro.

Karmic debts usually have a lot of side effects on the afflicted. In this case, Menogias and Bonanus bred hatred and turned against each other after spiraling into the darkness. They died fighting each other. Or so it is believed.

Genshin Impact Alatus (Anemo Yaksha)

Alatus was the former name of Xiao. He is the only Genshin Yaksha alive today. But unlike all the other ones, he has not given in to the darkness. Neither has he yielded to despair or been overtaken by madness.

Xiao maintains his distance from people out of concern for their own safety, lest they be affected by his karmic debt in any way. But he still keeps any harm from being done to Liyue.

And that concludes the backstories of the Genshin Impact Yakshas that we got from the recent 2.7 Archon Quest.

Players were able to delve deeper into the plot with the recent Genshin Impact Yakshas history release, laying the groundwork for the next Genshin Impact Version 2.8.

Now, despite the fact that players learned something new, fans have often requested that creator HoYoverse create a prequel to Genshin Impact and return to the Archon War.
