Summer Game Fest 2022 Showcase date has been announced along with several other details.
Summer Game Fest 2022 |
Summer is just around the corner in some parts of the world, while in others it has already started. And what better way is there to spend a hot summer afternoon than to chill around on your sofa with your friends playing a cool video game. And to help you achieve this exact goal, the Summer Game Fest exists.
For those who are strangers to the world of gaming, the Summer Game Fest is an annual games stream. What essentially happens is that we get information about the next year of gaming, and the new releases throughout it, with the help of fresh and exciting trailers and even gameplay videos for the upcoming titles.
Also, the developers usually have a surprise or two up their sleeve for some important news. To give you a bit of context, in the Summer Game Fest 2021, Elden Ring, the video game, was given its release date.
Their goal is to surprise us and keep us on our toes. You may know that E3, the largest gaming expo of the year, both by impact and importance, is no longer happening. And in such a context, the Summer Game Fest 2022 has got to pack a real punch to keep its audience entertained. And there is no doubt that they will.

Also, along with this event, they will get to watch The Game Awards.
Geoff Keighley tweeted: “With #SummerGameFest we are building a next-generation global event — decentralized physical events for the community in IMAX, big showcases from us + partners, play at home content, and much more!

Summer Game Fest 2022 Showcase schedule
One more thing to note is that the Summer Game Fest event this year will take place just three days before Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase. So this is a double whopper. Twice the fun within a single week.
The Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase is an E3-style event. It is supposed to take place on Sunday, June 12. Microsoft has got this to say about their event: This show will feature amazing titles coming from Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, and our partners around the world.
FYI, this event will start at 6 pm BST/ 1 pm ET/ 10 am PT and will be streamed in more than 30 languages. So be sure to take part in this celebration too if you can.
Anyway, if we would indulge in some historical facts about this event, this year’s event is significantly shorter than the previous years’. In 2020, this event spanned the entire Summer. In 2021, we saw it take place over an entire month, starting on June 10th and ending on July 22nd.
This shortening has taken place so as to make the event succinct and information-heavy. But still, taking into account the success of the event last year, we can say that the Summer Game Fest 2022 will go on for a couple of weeks.
