Apex Legends, the free-to-play battle royale hero shooter game that was developed by Respawn Entertainment and published by Electronic Arts, has seen a spike in its popularity in recent years. And with such popularity, comes the obvious demand for the game on as many platforms as possible. And this also means mobile phones.
Now, if you are into games news, you might know that Apex Legends Mobile has been in the pipeline for some years now. And also that it is going to be pretty different than the Apex Legends we are used to, while still featuring a lot of the same content like weapons, maps, and of course, Legends.
It has been available only in a few countries till now. But Apex Legends Mobile has been made available recently for pre-register in almost all the countries of the world. This includes the US, the UK, and Australia.

Apex Legends Mobile Release date
The Apex Legends Mobile release date for the global launch is 17 May 2022, as confirmed by Respawn Entertainment at a press event. Though you can pre-register for Apex Legends Mobile now, that won’t necessarily guarantee you a spot as access to the title is limited.
Respawn, in an FAQ post for the game on February 24, said that there will be a limited regional launch in 10 countries, on. This will be both on iOS and Android. It has been expanded now.
Here are the names of those countries the game is still not available in: Macau, Russia, Hong Kong, Belarus, China, and Taiwan.
Apex Legends Mobile Pre-registering
Based on which platform you use, you can pre-register for this game on the iOS App Store or Google Play store. It was thought that Android was the only platform the game was going to release on, but we now know that it’s also coming to iOS.
These are Respawn’s words: Head to the Google Play Store and iOS App Store to sign up so you can jump in, play as your favorite Legend, and share your feedback with the team.
Over 7.5 million have pre-registered, as of March 17.

Apex Legends Mobile Development details
“We’ve built a dedicated team here at Respawn filled with experts in mobile game development to lead the creation of Apex Legends Mobile,” Chad Grenier said, the Apex game director. “But it’s a collaborative effort with our established Apex Legends team and other partners.”
Respawn is taking the hands-on approach here. Tencent is also involved in the development, says an IGI India report. This Chinese company has loads of experience in this area as it also ported CoD to mobile devices.

Yes, Apex Legends Mobile is available on both iPhone and Android devices, though Android users get to play the game already in some countries, while iOS users can only pre-register their interests.

The answer to the question will there be cross-play in Apex Legends Mobile is a solid no. You will only be playing against mobile players.
“Apex Legends Mobile is specially designed for touchscreens, with streamlined controls and thoughtful optimizations that result in the most advanced battle royale combat available on a phone,” is what Respawn said about the issue.

Is Apex Legends Mobile free-to-play?
Apex Legends Mobile is free-to-play, but cosmetic items will be costly, though Respawn gives us their assurance that these won’t grant players any gameplay advantages. This game also has its own Battle Passes with unlockable items and collectible cosmetics.

There is the standard Apex Legends Mobile Battle Royale mode. Also, there are the Arenas and Team Deathmatch in the mobile version.
