Apex Legends, the free-to-play battle royal-hero shooter gamer, developed by Respawn Entertainment, and published by Electronic Arts, has been one of the most popular and entertaining titles ever since its launch in early 2019.
Apex Legends has been a prolific game till now, in that in just 3 years, it has launched 12 successful seasons till now. And it has been the practice of the developers to reveal something about their plans for the future season at the end of each season. Since we are at the end of the 12th season of Apex Legends, Respawn Entertainment has revealed that the next season will be named “Saviors,” in keeping with the tradition of naming each season with a unique name.
In Season 13, we will get to experience a new Agent called Newcastle, a new AI called “The Downed Beast,” a new Season Battle Pass, map changes, a New Ranked Season, and a lot of other stuff. Respawn has gotten into the habit of calling each season not by its numerical value, but by a word that defines its central theme ever since season 9. Seasons 9, 10, 11, and 12 were given the names “Legacy,” “Emergence,” “Escape,” and “Defiance” respectively.
We can derive some information about the season from its title. As this season will be called “Savior,” it will have to do with saving others, and shields. Newcastle’s abilities also reflect this name.

Apex Legends Season 13 Saviors
An official trailer was put out recently on YouTube, which revealed features of the upcoming season 13 of Apex Legends. The trailer was 3.51 minutes long and we get to see the new agent Newcastle’s abilities up close and near, and also “The Downed Beast” in its sheer brilliance.
At the beginning of the trailer, we see the old Apex Legends hosting a goodbye party for Bangalore that also is a welcome party for Newcastle. You can think of this new agent as a replacement for Bangalore as he has decided to leave the Apex Games. Bangalore thinks that the reason for her joining the Apex Games in the first place, to find her long-lost brother Jackson, is no longer valid.
And that, we see the agents getting dropped on the map as the Apex Games are to begin shortly. A huge crustacean monster comes out from the waters near where they land, the shores of Storm Point. And here is where we get to grab a good glance at Newcastle’s abilities as everyone starts to fight this creature.

Apex Legends Season 13 - New Agent Newcastle
As we’ve discussed, Bangalore will be replaced by Newcastle in season 13 of Apex Legends. And he has a shield, keeping to the theme of the season. He’s a shield character much like Gibraltar. In the video, we get to see him employ the shield. The shield would obviously protect the people behind it from the oncoming fire.
Another function the shield serves is that it allows Newcastle to drag damaged players to safety by using a shield to protect them. And at last, his Ultimate ability is revealed. It allows him to employ his shield fully and form a barricade/ roadblock that won’t allow any fire to penetrate.
Apex Legends Season 13 - Downed Beast AI
The thirteenth season of Apex Legends will see the players fight a humungous crustacean called “The Downed Beast.” At the moment, however, we do not have any information regarding this showdown. The hope is that we get a game mode where the players have to take down this creature, and not the last-team standing format.

Apex Legends Season 13 Battle Pass
It won’t be a “new” season if we don’t get to see a brand-new battle pass. This season’s battle pass will be called “Saviors.” And you can be sure to see some awesome skins for characters, weapons, skydive emotes, seasonal trackers, banners, weapon charms, music packs, and whatnot in the new Defiance battle pass.
Apex Legends Season 13 Saviors Ranked Season
If you are a competitive Apex Legends player (let’s be honest, everyone is!) then you about to enjoy a fresh ranked season. The details about this ranked season are yet to be released, however.
