Rumors about Nvidia's RTX 3000 Superseries have been making rounds for quite a while and now a new leak has revealed some prominent data about the upcoming Nvidia RTX 3080 12 GB graphic cards.
Recently, it was leaked that Nvidia was planning to reveal its RTX 3090 Ti cards, and soon after the leak, we actually got a short glimpse at these new Nvidia RTX 3090 Ti cards. It was revealed that 3090 Ti graphics cards will have 21Gb/s memory along with 10,752 CUDA cores.
Moreover, it was additionally revealed a few weeks ago that Nvidia decided to postpone the release of RTX 3080 12 GB and 3070 Ti 16 GB due to some tech deficit, yet it wasn't actually affirmed why the company actually decided to push back the release dates.
However, now we have a new leak suggesting that Nvidia might announce their RTX 3080 12 GB graphic card sooner than expected.

Recently, wccftech published an article claiming that Nvidia may announce their RTX 3080 12 GB on 11th January 2022 at 6AM PST. It has been revealed that the upcoming announcement for 3080 is not about the SUPER refresh or a new Ti variant, but is actually about a small update to the already existing RTX 3080 SKU.
If the leak is to be believed then the GeForce RTX 3080 12GB will have a more extensive memory bus, having an increased bandwidth to 912 GB/s. Moreover, it is expected that this Nvidia RTX 3080 12 GB will have a total of 8960 CUDA cores, which is a 3% increase over the standard RTX 3080.
Now coming to the price of Nvidia RTX 3080 12 GB, users can expect it to range from $899-$999 US as an MSRP, with the realistic pricing going over $1500 US. However, nothing can be said for sure, as it is simply being guessed that these cards will lie somewhere will between the RTX 3080 10 GB and RTX 3080 Ti 12 GB graphics cards.

The leaker was unable to share the exact RTX 3080 12GB release date, yet it has been claimed that on the exact day, i.e. on 11th January, the preorders for this new model might get started.
This Tuesday, Nividia revealed its RTX 3090 Ti flagship GPU with 450W TDP, which will be released on January 27th and will be joined by 350W TDP RTX 3080 12GB. So, it still stays unclear as to why Nividia will release this new update to the existing 3080 SKU as the 3090 Ti will definitely outshine the 3080 12 GB.
Obviously, users should note that even though the leaker seems like a solid source, Nvidia still hasn't declared its RTX 3000 plans, so it is best to take this information with a grain of salt.
However, if in case the leak about RTX 3080 12 GB cards turns out to be true, then it will be interesting to see what NVIDIA has to offer to its users as the ongoing shortage of gaming tech and hardware has made players expect more from the organizations.
