It’s almost a week and a half away from Christmas and almost a fortnight away from New Year. There’s magic in the air this holiday season, and video game developers feel it too. Many video games, both open-world and MMO (massively multiplayer online), celebrate the winter season with special in-game releases and events. And Amazon’s celebrating it through the New World Winter Convergence Festival.
Amazon’s video game branch (yes, Amazon has a video game branch), Amazon Game Studios, has decided to introduce a special winter season in-game release in their popular MMO video game ‘New World,’ called New World Winter Convergence Festival.
New World is based in Aeternum, a deadly island of shipwrecks and magic; an island that’s hell-bent on the destruction of all those who set on its soil. There’s magic on Aeternum, like the resurrection of dead beings and plants with miraculous properties, and there’s destruction, like its power to annihilate the soul. In other words, it’s a boatload of fun. And it’s only available on PC. (There are no plans as such for New World’s release on other consoles).

New World Convergence Festival Start Date and Time
Let’s get into the specifics. The New World Convergence Festival's start date is December 14, 2021. This New World Festival will continue till January 1, 2022.
The New World Winter Convergence Festival time is not confirmed officially yet, but on the basis of previous updates, the New World Convergence Festival time is 9 a.m. CEST, 8 a.m. BST, 7 a.m. UTC, and 2 a.m. ET.

Aeternum’s known for its usual clear and balmy weather. Well, the New World Convergence Festival turns that upside down as Aeternum’s climate turns cold and frosty as Yeti (that’s right, the monster), also known as the Winter Wanderer in the New World Convergence Festival, arrives on the island, bringing with it a mighty war. Now, this Yeti will have a bad as well as a good side. The challenge is to help the good side drive the winter away from Aeternum.
The New World Convergence Festival will be marked by the Northern Lights (the aurora borealis) in the sky. The settlements get decorated and gifts exchange hands. There will be Holiday Shops in these settlements. Four unique Winter Villages will be set up. This is where you’ll start the quests.

Players are used to seeing cloudless skies and breezy landscapes, but in this New World Festival, they will experience the opposite of that. The gamers will have to complete time-bound quests that go from level 15 all the way up to level 60.
The players will have to do various activities and earn tokens. Then they will have to turn these tokens into the HolidayShops, where they will receive winter-themed items in return for said tokens. And most importantly, this will help the Yeti’s good side beat its bad side.
New locations will also be introduced in Aeternum, giving gamers new areas to explore. For example, there will be Ice Caves in this New World Festival, which will contain the Winter Wanderer’s forces, who will aid in making the winter settle on Aeternum forever.
